LOL, so tell us Lesh, what has mankind done over the centuries to deal with virus's? I bet the best answer is "Deal with it" and surely not hide in the house until old age or obesity clogged arteries stop the heart or turn people into a Joe Biden

 

What a crock. Mankind never just surrenders...they have been more or less effective in fighting pandemics but surrender has never been a winning policy

 

And they didn't hide like leapers, or cowards either

 

I genuinely feel bad for the people that believed it would all go away with the heat. It's hot as heck up here (Northern IL) and some people are walking around without masks. And, no, they are not doing it because of their civil rights. They truly believe it's GONE, GONE.

 

And it's not gone. It's been beaten back but will return as infections in the rest of the country go nuts

 

Trump just told us that the virus is "harmless" to the 99% of people who don't die

But we know that 20% of hospitalization occur with people who are between 20-40

And we know that a crap load of those people who Trump is discounting are so sick that they're hospitalized for weeks and months

 

Trump just recruited the largest group of Americans to fight the virus. About 2 million Americans have fought the virus. There are countries like Taiwan who barely fought. Countries in the Shengen region who fought and stopped. Americans keep on fighting because it's about freedom.

 

Translation: I go on and on about "freedom", but what I really mean is that I don't care how my reckless behavior affects others.

 

Getting sick and dying is NOT how you fight a pandemic

Viruses could be nature's way (Darwin's theory) of weeding out the weak so as to keep the homo sapien species strong.

There are literally thousands of viruses infecting millions of people daily. Some die, some don't.

Exactly what is your plan to "beat it".

We CAN deal with these things. We HAVE...

But not by surrendering to them.

 

NY has effectively done so. We had daily infections down from tens of thousands to a couple hundred. At that level...even with the lack of tests we were able to to test and trace outbreaks and contain ti.

South Korea has done even better. Norway and other countries as well.

We had to lock down for weeks to get the numbers down that low. We only left the house to get food and essentials.. We wore masks when we went out. We were careful about social distancing. We used hand washing and hand sanitizer obsessively and it WORKED.

And now the infection YOU people allowed...is rolling back at us

Had you people taken this seriously...had we had some actual leadership pushing that...we could be all but out of this mess
