Its not these two fringes that are going to cause it.

When enough people are promised free ****, and the other half are expected to pay for it, you are going to witness a Civil War. We are already divisive enough in our two party system. The fringes are just pushing the partisan perspectives and are eventually going to find the boiling point.

These views are shared by many of Trump's fans.

"Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on," Trump said to national television audience.

Referring to the clash of neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and members of the KKK versus the townspeople of Charlottesville defending their homes, Trump declared, “You also had some very fine people on both sides.”

In an interview yesterday with Breitbart News, Trump said this:

You know, the left plays a tougher game, it’s very funny. I actually think that the people on the right are tougher, but they don’t play it tougher. Okay? I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump — I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad. But the left plays it cuter and tougher.

It would be very bad, very bad.

There’s no particular reason to give Trump the benefit of the doubt on this. But even if he did intend it in this somewhat less disgusting way, he’s still saying that the ranks of his armed supporters could at some point feel provoked to violence. He doesn’t say they should feel provoked, but merely that they might feel provoked under certain conditions and Trump is giving his okay by saying, "I have the tough people."

Trump said Friday he does not believe white nationalism is a rising global danger after a suspected gunman who authorities say espoused that ideology massacred 49 Muslims in New Zealand.

“I don’t really. I think it’s a small group of people that have very, very serious problems. It’s certainly a terrible thing,” he said.

He lied. He never intended to change anything. The tax cuts went to business (actually a good thing) and people, but 85% of the personal tax cuts went to people making more than $400,000 per year. He tried to cut health care guarantees against higher rates for pre-existing conditions, and now he wants to cut spending on education, Medicare, and Medicaid.

There ARE no socialists in American politics, Hell, there are damned few socialists in RUSSIAN politics, or Chinese or Venezuelan or anywhere in the world. Capitalism has triumphed, Socialism is a dead horse but Fascists are still looking to ride it to power.

What we have now is Fascist State Capitalism, where the economy is dominated by truly huge quasi-governmental bodies and a smaller, ( but often still quite large) section is given over to "small" businesses. What most "social Democrats" want is for the first section and second section above to change places, that is, for the "small" (and some can be quite large really, they just don't have government in their board room, overtly or covertly) to be the dominant one. One real problem with them is that they don't really have a name or any body of substantial economic theory behind them (though they have a lot of history, having actually been the functioning economic system in most places since WWII)

Most of what your present day conservatives want is the REAL radicalism. A return to the 1890's when a few gigantic monopolies totally ran the entire economy AND the government. Anyone else, and particularly the public, be damned; only they want it to be locked in forever with racism/ethnicism so any of the new peasantry who dares object can be judged inferior or defective and sent to the death camps. (and this is what they ENVISION, something to be accomplished in 20-50 years, I am well aware there no death camps....yet)

Hillary was a lousy candidate. She should have reached out to working class people, but instead spent her time appealing to minoritiies, women, environmentalists--her base. She spent very little time in key states she lost.
    Ocasio-Cortez is clueless, I'm afraid.

Moderates still control the party. We'll see if Crazy Bernie can get the nomination.

The assh*les who try it are going to find out the hard way Americans won't put up with someone trying to take over.
Oh, you mean like Bezos, Gates, and Buffett being worth more than the bottom 50% of Ameticans? Did they get a lot of "free sh't?" Maybe the pols rigged the system in their favor. Maybe people will figure it out and run the Orange Oaf out of office.

Hillary was pretty much by far the better candidate though, You should talk to more Europeans if you want an idea of just how good she was seen as by the rest of the real world. She is an illustration that, given time, an effective Party apparatus in the USA can convince anyone that anybody is anything; they can even convince a Party that their OWN candidate is corrupt and incompetent when they are not and that is exactly what the Republicans did with Hillary

And the opposite is true, The public can be EDUCATED by an EFFECTIVE Party; something we have to get under any circumstance or we WILL lose, moderate or not.

And this is why I wonder if we might not be going the wrong way in presenting yet again another competent but bloodless moderate to Trump's monster raving loony

With all due respect I think you are letting the conservative smear machine lead you totally astray once again with AOC. She is doing quite well as a freshman IMO

    Against Biden? No, he can't.

And I think Biden can and will win IF he can and will get out the vote. Trump's people WILL be out to vote for him in droves, we know that. Biden has to have an issue to run on IMO, more than just "'I'm not Trump". That alone SHOULD indeed be more than enough for any sane person but the American people are sometimes monster raving loonies themselves

Federal spending for education could stop tomorrow and the only things that would change would be that there'd be more money available for the class room and less bureaucrats in DC. Where are the cuts going to be made and how? There is certainly plenty of fraud in those programs that could be eliminated.

What is even more amusing is how you want to talk about being an adult and being mature. All while you get your feelings out and name calling Trump. Making up **** that isn't even there and thinking its reality.

You will need to better when coming with any diss. Do you even know what the diss.....is. I have to ask due to all that alleged maturity you thought you were showing.

My guess is you get your marching orders from certain approved sources.

Correcting trade issues is a huge priority. Those imbalances have a massive impact on employment and potentially National Security. Allowing China, for example, to steal patents and intellectual property, and then screw American workers by dumping fake products, etc., in this country must be dealt with. I guess that doesn't matter if you don't care about American workers.

As to immigration, no nation has ever survived by allowing unfettered entry by anyone at any time. Perhaps you don't want the United States to survive.
