    The irony is that Trump's fixer paying hush money to hide one of his master's sordid trysts may reveal a plenitude of intriguing information.

    The Trump Justice Department Special Counsel may be taking yet another major step in his patriotic mission to expose all aspects of Putin's subverting the US democratic process in the 2016 presidential election, an ongoing attack (established by the FBI, NSA, CIA, and acknowledged by the Republican-run Senate Intelligence Committee, and Trump Secretary of State Pompeo) from which the US must defend itself.

    The highly-respected, consummate professional has been steadfast in quietly discharging his responsibility, despite the media frenzy contrived by hyper-partisan elements fearful of collateral damage that might adversely impact their parochial interests, and hellbent upon befouling his admirable repute.

    Others take an "America First" stance in what is a matter of national security, and truth the essential weapon against it.

    The fact that the prez required the services of a "fixer" in the first place would be enough, under ordinary circumstances, for any politician to be ridiculed. But Don, he makes Ronnie Reagan's famed coat of Teflon look like titanium by comparison.

    Given the existential imperative of exposing a hostile foreign power's assault upon American democracy, Trump wankers really shouldn't expect their parochial obsession to compel the nation to surrender.

    The OP uses the term "may be" several times. I watched NBC News yesterday and they spent 3 minutes at the top of their broadcast using the term "speculation". What "may be" and "speculation" boils down to is "wishful thinking". The words aren't worth the paper they are written on.

    Let's ignore the fact that prosecutors have had the tapes for quite a while, and haven't charged anyone, with anything, at all. But consider these facts: Clinton hasn't been charged with FEC violations for payments to Perkins Coie, and this 'prolly explains why https://www.bna.com/fec-rarely-votes-n17179934048/ Trump deposited $66 million of his own money into his campaign expense account too. It'll be a hard sell to get the FEC to sign off on a criminal referral.

    Sorry, but your distractions no longer have much weight. Most of us are just interested observers to a chain of events leading to ??? We avoid conclusions because it interrupts the drama being played. It's a delicious mix of Comedy and Tragedy.

    Please be patient while the Trump Justice Department Special Counsel conducts his investigation and accrues evidence. Despite all the indictments, it has been scrupulous in abstaining from the indiscretions and leakage some desire.

    Clinton Derangement Syndrome was a time-honored pastime, relentlessly promoted by partisan propaganda outlets for their parrots as well as fruitless GOP congressional fatwas, but fails to serve as a desperate diversion form what is real, current, and pertinent.

    I'm prepared to suffer liberal delusions until 2020 if need be ... but mid-terms are much closer, and that bring this spectacle to a screeching halt.

    I doubt that.

    If the GOP loses either house, we're going to see real oversight for the first time in the Trump era.

    Lickspittles like Devin Nunes and noise makers like Jim Jordan will be relegated to bellowing talking points on Fox.

    Meanwhile, the entire rogues gallery of the Trump Administration will be paraded before the television cameras and grilled on live television, something that the GOP has been able to derail so far.

    And even if the GOP hangs on, the Special Prosecutor's investigation will continue, and he will continue to color in the outline of Trump collusion.

    I guess. Cheating on your wife and paying your mistress to keep quiet during campaign season may not technically be wrong from a strict legal standpoint. I think there was a time it would offend your base, but that was before they, well, debased themselves in order to support you as president. Unless, of course, there also ends up being some kind of campaign finance violation that comes out of it all, but I don't suppose that's too likely.
