Guilty of attempting to overthrow the election and install himself as an unelected dictator. Again, as I've said many times before, his actions with regards to the violent mob acting in his name pale in comparison to his other actions to overthrow the election. The steering wheel thing is peanuts in comparison.

That is an opinion with no proof to back it up. Why are you joining Democrats in perpetuating the big lie? Oh, I forgot, there is hearsay evidence that he tried to grab the steering wheel. There's also evidence that he was fine with protesters having guns, even though protesters never used guns on Jan 6th. But, let's perpetuate the big lie anyway.

I have plenty of proof to back it up, if you are willing to discuss it . . . which no Trump supporter is.

Trump is the one perpetuating the big lie, which you have apparently joined.

If you had read my previous quote . . . the one you quoted . . . you'd know what these sentence is inapplicable. But functional literacy and Trumpism have always been enemies.

Except some of the protesters did have guns. And, also, see previous sentence.

Please read before responding. Just because your idol is incapable of reading a sentence doesn't mean his followers have to share his handicaps.

Just ask folks like you and him to read and watch them crumble. I've never accused Trump of treason. I've defended him against this accusation. Try reading. I know your Dear Leader is incapable, but that's no excuse for you.

No, I didn't. If you had read what I said and had actually read the Constitution, you'd understand this basic concept. Trump tried to overthrow our elections. He didn't declare war. Read. Learn. This ain't rocket surgery.

But, hey, if you want to claim it would be treason for Trump to try to steal the election, which he absolutely ****ing did while followers like you and @independtthinker cheered him on, then feel free to confess that you were cheering for treason. I would never say that about you, but I won't stop your confession.

Lmao what do you think the charge would be for Guilty of attempting to overthrow the election and install himself as an unelected dictator if he had actually done this? You guys are ****ing hilarious

Conspiracy to defraud the US, for starters. There are additional charges for interfering with an election. Literally everyone who has bothered to read by this point knows this. Ignorance is no excuse, no matter how willing. You do realize there is already a federal criminal investigation into this and a state grand jury? You seriously haven't even stayed awake for even the most basic facts here and you have the balls to ridicule others for paying ****ing attention? You guys would be ****ing hilarious if you hadn't defended an attack on our elections, continue to defend attacks on our elections, cheered for an unelected dictator to be installed, and can't even be bothered to read. It isn't ****ing hilarious. It's ****ing pathetic and the most anti-patriotic bull **** ever promoted on these forums.

I am not a lawyer or politician, but I know that in democracy voters elect president, so IMHO does not matter if Trump will appear as a first witness. . If Trump will declare that the investigation comity are liars paid by China - millions of voters will believe him. Yes, it is very sad and I think now the left needs the 2nd Amendment.

I've already seen the proof - zero, zip, nodda. You guys connect the dots the way you want to in order to prove your case. Latest attempt: breaking news with bombshell testimony - hearsay. Someone told me something.

Your question wasn't concrete either. So I gave the best answer I could from my personal experience.

That depends more on what's on the news. And if Trump were to do what I suggest, that would DEFINITELY be on the news before every election in which he wants to weigh in. Republicans might not need any other issue.

Allow me to clarify one thing: by "independent" I mean people who are not registered to vote for either party. Not the true independent who may or may not be affiliated with a party. A true independent may be a registered Democrat or a registered Republican, but will vote based on the issues they believe affect them and the country. So they are very well informed. Most self-proclaimed independents are not actual independents at all. Some are just swing voters, others (maybe the majority) are just clueless. So whatever grabs their attention the day they vote, that's what they'll go with.

No. The OP doesn't refer to just making one statement under oath. It says declaring under oath. By which I mean that he is questioned by members of the committee from both parties.

Here you go, @cristiansoldier... These are the type of false false self-proclaimed "independents" I mentioned, who are clueless as to what is going on. This one is here posting to a thread about the January 6 investigation, and doesn't even know what Trump is being investigated for.

What nonsense! There have been dozens of cases based on the Mueller Report.

Why am I wasting my time responding to a poster this uninformed!

Of course they would but... who cares? This is not meant to convince hard-core Democrats. It would be a formidable weapon for Republicans to pull in independents, and disuade a lot of Democrats from bothering to go out and vote. You still haven't answered the question. That, and your evasive tactics confirm that what you REALLY think is that this wouldn't work because Trump actually is guilty.

So there is no need for you to further explain yourself.

So if you can assume he's not guilty, why do you assume he stonewalls the investigations that would prove that he isn't. And which would also mean a huge boost to his political influence and his future regarding any political aspirations?

To "assume" is fine. It's what this thread is about. But why do you stop there? Once you started, go all the way to the end.

You should understand how this produces the idea that your assumptions are not based on actual commitment but on political convenience.

If Trump runs he will win. I just hope someone else beats him in the primaries. There is no way people will vote for Biden next go round.

You hadn't heard? It's in the Mueller Report! This is why I have tried to convince people to not comment on the Mueller investigation until after they have read the report.

In my opinion the would be very little value in the Trump team running a constant ad before the election of him declaring he had no intention of of overturning the election process. My guess is for independent voters there are many issues much more concerning that they would rather hear about. How would this declaration improve their lives, get them jobs, lower prices, keep them safe? I think you over estimate the value of such a declaration. On the flip side the down side of Trump speaking to a committee would be much greater. If the questioning leads Trump to say something the democrats could use to attack him it would be played constantly in election ads by the democrats which could cost him votes. So given the huge downside and little upside why would he do it? Be honest are you suggesting this because you think he will gain votes or in the hope the committee can expose something to make him unelectable? He can already make declaration at will and spin the committee into being a partisan attack. People they will vote from Trump will already accept that. Look at all of people that believe the election was stolen without any concrete proof.

So asked him if Trump declared he had no intention of overthrowing the election results would it change his vote at a committee? You think he would he vote for Biden without the declaration but once makes the declaration he switches? That is what you OP suggest because it would lead to an easy victory. Call me skeptical but I don't think so.

I'm not clueless to the fact that this thing has been a kangaroo investigation before it even started. The committee is filled with nothing but anti-Trumpers and the rules allow them to include any "evidence" they want while discluding anything which might interfere with their anti-Trump agenda.

I don't think you're understanding how politics leading up to an election work. 90% of voters (I'm using that percentage just to illustrate my point) have already made up their minds. Half of them for one, the other half for the other. It's the other 10% that shift the elections one way or the other. Everything you see in a campaign is meant to sway the majority of that other 10% your way. Anything can swing their vote: a good campaign slogan, an "October surprise", a last minute investigation (like the one that made Trump President), a scandal, ... Demonstrating that a committee that has already been showing proof of Trump's crimes is WRONG would be a real shocker. It would shock some into voting for Republicans, it would shock any Republican who was on the fence to jump over, it would shock many Democrats into not bothering to go out and vote.

Yes! it would DEFINITELY decide the results of the elections. But, even if you thought it didn't, it would definitely NOT hurt. So it would be a great political move. BUT... again, for this to work, Trump would have to be innocent. And by the responses I have received in this thread, I don't think there is even a single Republican who thinks that he is.

You should have learned by now, that that has no further effect than what it already has had. People who cared about things like his support for white supremacists, the Access Hollywood Tape, his xenophobic and misogynistic remarks, his support for dictators like Putin and KJU while trashing NATO and our allies... those are already set in the numbers. And those who care already made up their minds, just like those who don't already made up theirs. Nothing else he says is going to move the needle. Anyway... that's a whole different topic.

He's not an independent. He's one of the fake self-proclaimed independents who is actually a Trump supporter.
