He is black if that makes a difference to some, it shouldn't. In all honesty, the only thing I see that could stop Trump, is the Corona-Virus. Don't even bother coming back on how Trump has handled it. It wouldn't mattered who was President, the science has been different on this virus and they still don't have a cure. Some things have worked a little and others haven't. Even with the failures more data has been collected and with Gods help and an honest sharing of information around the world we can find a safe vaccine. Since January , with the exception of Doctor appointments and grocery shopping I've been in isolation until this past week-end when I went to dinner and sat outside with my wife and daughter.

Anyway according to this unscientific poll the majority believes, rather disbelieves anything in the media that is critical of Trump. That says more about them than the media. So it is ideology over reason. What could be the ideology?

 

It is ideology over reason. We have a couple generations of young people who were taught what to think, not how to think. That leaves people vulnerable to media just shoveling whatever garbage they want into peoples' heads. Then you have a plurality of people secure in believing garbage because so many others believe the same garbage. Media propaganda is legal and journalism is dead, so that's what we get.

 

Face it. Trump is a fracking cult leader and all of his followers are his brainwashed minions. I wouldn't be at all surprised if when he loses he'll commit suicide and have one last outsized rally where all his followers are made to imbibe poisoned Big Macs while he shouts about how the Deep State is coming to get them all while ensconced on his last golden toilet.

You are on to something there. There are a lot of parallels between Trumpers and cult members. Each are followers of narcissistic sociopaths. They mistrust the normals, believe in the inerrancy of the leadership despite contradictory evidence, those outside the group are evil or the enemy and dissent is not tolerated.
