How then does anybody reconcile the fact that on the night of 9/11/2001
many trucks were rolling with many trips from ground zero to a land fill and
back for yet more material to be removed from the site.?

let's be honest now: Ground Zero wasn't a NYPD or FBI crime scene.

they only started saying that to keep gaukers from taking pictures.

I should know, I was there.

So it is a myth that the mayor of NYC ordered trucks to roll
on 9/11/2001 to start clearing the site so as to put Manhattan back to business as usual?

The problem I have with all of this is that the top layer would have been most telling,
in that it would be theoretically the least damaged of all the stuff in the pile, and may
render clues as to exactly what happened.

I never said it WAS their crime scene, but their people were buried in the pile ,and they would have been closely watching the investigation....,

    bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

    thousands of photographs were taken.

meanwhile, it was a very dangerous place and they were searching for thousands of bodies.

did you expect reporters to just walk onto the pile and snap photos???

    lol!!!!

In the book "AFTERMATH" the author states that for the first week
after the attack, security was very tight and nobody was allowed to
photograph Ground Zero. Now there should have been official pix
done by any number of agencies that had a stake in having it documented
exactly what the pile looked like and special attention to the condition of
the steel that was obviously visible. One of my pet peeves about this
whole thing is the fact that there is a picture that has circulated widely,
and the pix shows what appears to be first responders/firefighters in the
foreground of the pix and in the background there are angle cut steel columns.
now there is much speculation as to the exact pedigree of this pix, because
if it was taken during the clean-up operation, the cut columns could be said to
have been cut in the process of cleaning up the site, but if this pix was shot
before any of the clean-up work had started, then that would pretty obvious
proof of controlled demolition. Where are the REAL pix that actually document
what was going on right after the smoke cleared sufficiently to actually shoot pix?

Do I expect reporters to be able to simply walk in and start shooting pix?
YES of course, certainly the site was a dangerous place, however reporters
have signed up for dangerous gigs many times before from documenting the
front lines in WW1 to Viet Nam & more, Reporters know its not a cushy gig
and if they wanted a completely safe job, they wouldn't be reporters.

GZ was a toxic & secure site for months, yet Truthers think Daily News reporters should have been walking around the pile taking photos.

    :roflol:

nobody was allowed down there unless you lived there or were official personnel.

The fact is that even if the powers that be
deemed it unsafe for reporters to visit the site, WHY was the site not documented?
There should have been at least a camera in the hands of an officer, fire chief,
County authorized photographer or what, but document the site, this is at the very
least criminal incompetence on the part of the city/county & anybody who exercised
any authority at all in this matter, the lack of documentation leaves gaping holes in the
INFORMATION available to the taxpayers of this land, and not that these criminally
incompetent officials are employees of the taxpayers, they work for us, why should
    we tolerate gross incompetence?

in the book, Aftermath by Joel Meyerowitz the claim is made that
for the first week after the attack, access was VERY restricted and
no photography of the pile was allowed.

    Who shall we believe?

AH, and in the book review - "John Botte was given privileged access to ground zero in the hours and days following the tragedy of 9/11."

I'm willing to give it a look, and I'm wondering if its going to turn out to be a
proper documentary or simply a pretty book of pictures(?)

According to the sources given, which includes a report by FEMA, much of the steel debris was not examined. By that, I mean stored for analysis.

Enough to explain the matter by which the buildings, including the third one, collapsed.

From what I gathered, investigators focused heavily on videos and computer simulations, as most steel debris was destroyed.

Untrue, the steel was meticulously examined both onsite and at Fresh Kills.
