Pretty lame accusation. Am I to believe that Russian soldiers were checking EVERY Crimean ballot, BEFORE they were submitted, to ensure that the vote was FOR reunification?

That would HAVE to have been the case, otherwise, how would pointing guns at Crimeans necessarily ensure a vote for reunification?

Sounds pretty UNLIKELY to me. I highly doubt that the MAJORITY population of ethnic RUSSIANS of Crimea needed to be coerced into voting for reunification.

If Americans want to change that they have to build more ships for the Merchant Marine and gear up for a massive, risky war.

I suspect that words from here mean nothing there.

By law the Crimean referendum is illegitimate... you can jump up and down as much as you like, does not change anything

The coup that occurred in Kiev was illegitimate and unconstitutional. Whining about what Crimea did to escape that illegitimate "government" is disingenuous, at best.

There is no "in my opinion" to it. It is a fact that the coup/overthrow of Yanukovich was illegitimate. See article 111 of the Ukrainian constitution in force at that time.

Screw what the 'international community' thinks. This community consists of the US and it's poodles.

As to the Crimean question, no serious person can think that the referendum would have even happened were it not for the events in Kiev.

Well the Russian puppet didn't dance anymore, as far as I'm concerned that doesn't change anything, still makes it illegal

Your concern and two Australian dollars may get you a small coffee.

Go ahead. Look up the constitution. Article 111 deals with the transfer of presidential power. What happened in Kiev doesn't even come close to being legitimate.

Why should any people be obligated to maintain fealty to an illegitimate government?

As to the Crimean question...the the little Kremlin porch monkey saw an oppurtunity to grab some land while the country was in turmoil....reinforces the theory that the low cultured vatniks are impudent thieves:)!

It's funny and sad at the same time. Russia has a lot of poodles among western populations thanks to their online propaganda efforts.

Scarlett, I think that the fact that majority thinks that the coup was legal and annexation of Crimea illegal, does not mean that this majority is right. In ancient times most of the people also thought that the Earth is like a plate and stands on the elephants.:D People tend to make mistakes. As Friedrich Schiller said: "The voice of the majority is no proof of justice"

    Here you go.

Now perhaps you can show the involvement of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court (required) in Yanukovich's removal.

    https://en.m.wikisource.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Ukraine,_2004

    Article 111
The President of Ukraine may be removed from office by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by the procedure of impeachment, in the event that he or she commits state treason or other crime.

The issue of the removal of the President of Ukraine from office by the procedure of impeachment is initiated by the majority of the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

To conduct the investigation, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine establishes a special temporary investigatory commission whose composition includes a special Prosecutor and special investigators.

The conclusions and proposals of the temporary investigatory commission are considered at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

For cause, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, by no less than two-thirds of its constitutional composition, adopts a decision on the accusation of the President of Ukraine.

The decision on the removal of the President of Ukraine from office by the procedure of impeachment is adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by no less than three-quarters of its constitutional composition, after the review of the case by the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and the receipt of its opinion on the observance of the constitutional procedure of investigation and consideration of the case of impeachment, and the receipt of the opinion of the Supreme Court of Ukraine to the effect that the acts, of which the President of Ukraine is accused, contain elements of state treason or other crime.

Ok now just waiting for you to link to the part that explains how this is any of Russia's business and justifies the invasion of Crimea?
