And this also proves that if the minimum wage goes down, it can expand employment for younger people.

The minimum wage has effectively gone down, with inflation.

doesn't mean Trump is not responsible for forcing others to reduce the supply of cheap foreign oil last year

the Republican state of Texas is responsible for the failed refineries, not Biden

Failed refineries? Heck, you won't won't prove that by my gas pumps here in Texas. We pay a lot less than the national average... and it WORKS GREAT!

Its interesting that you say we didn't need it and yet we imported 7.86 million barrels per day, and that was a year when roadways were practically empty due to Covid. Imports were down 38% in 2020. In France, imports were down by 50%.

    - France (down -50.8%),
    - Belgium (down -46.2%),
    - Italy (down -44.5%),
    - Taiwan (down -40.8%),
    - Singapore (down -40.6%),
    - Japan (down -40.5%),
    - Spain (down -38.3%)
    - United States (down -38.3%).

Roadways here are far from empty. Oh, you must live in a blue state where your masters ordered you to stay home from work, your kids to stay home from school. Yes... I read about that and saw it on TV.

I live in Florida, but yes, we were locked down pretty tight in 2020 just like Texas was. Don't try to tell me Texas was not locked down, because it was.

Yeah... Texas locked down for a few months at federal direction. Took our wonderful governor a short while to set us free administratively. No big deal.. we weren't hurt with businesses that went bust or social ills due to masks and distancing. It was just a bump in the road until the Governor set it right.

Texas was locked down hard, and multiple times, and even had curfews. It caused TX unemployment to spike to over 8% (its below 6% now. Can you say "thank you Biden". lol). So what? I don't see the point of trying to deny it. I work remotely for a company in Texas, so I interact with people there on daily bases, so I know what you are saying is not true. Our office building is still closed, and they are talking about maybe opening in January but everyone must get vaccinated (or get fired) and wear mask all day. Yes, this is the reality in Texas.

Wow... I've lived in Texas for four years and never saw any of that. Are you sure you weren't in prison? Everything here has been wide open... schools... businesses... restaurants... beaches. Your out-of-state computer is lying to you.

So, you go from "locked down for several months" to "never saw any of it".

Its comments like that that prove beyond any shadow of doubt that you are being less than honest.

What on earth is the point of lying about it, when anyone can look up what happened in Texas in 2020?

Not one or two restaurants were closed, but THOUSANDS. But you never saw anything.......And everything was open, - including restaurants (you said it right there in your quote):

You never saw a thing, and yet........:

Thousands Of Texas Restaurants Closed During The Pandemic.

    I missed it.
    I never filed for unemployment.
I don't live in Bexar County.
I never had any elective surgeries.
    I've never been unemployed.
I'm long since out of school.

    So I missed it.

So, when you talk about Texas, you are really talking about yourself in a little house in the prairie where nothing happens, and unless you personally don't see anything, then it didn't happen. Got it!

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Actually its a four bedroom, three bath home with a jacuzzi on the porch and a walk-in tub. SUPERWIFE and I explore the historical sights a bit, but between the Army and the aerospace industry, I've done all the long range traveling I want. I still consult on a couple of developing Army programs, but by and large I like to relax, watching blue states (especially my home state of New York and my last, long time home of California) commit suicide from my jacuzzi.

I'm sure watching New Yorkers and Californians die of Covid put a smile on your face, and of course nothing happened Texas

That a really nasty, miserable thing to say. You must be a Democrat. I am watching NY and CA commit suicide through high taxes, letting criminals go rather than sending them to jail, through endless China Virus restrictions, Draconian gun laws, tolerating riots and looting, heck... even Mayor DiBlasio's attempt to outlaw BIG GULPS.

I said nothing about death. Only you would equate watching death with enjoyment.

it's called a swerve. Watch the Democrat voters within the forum try and change topics rather than address inflation, the border and suicidal Democrat energy policies

There is no defense of the Democrat policies and the voters who voted for this catastrophe do not want to be told that they are complicit in this mess. They would rather hear the media tell them how enlightened they were for voting Democrat.

They can’t acknowledge the truths that you said so they did as all lefties do when backed into a corner: talk about something completely different
It isn’t even fun to converse with liberals anymore. They don’t even bother to switch up their playbook every now and then
I feel really sorry for these people

No, I am not a democrat. I was responding to your comment where you said you relax by watching the misery of others.

Don't say stuff like that if you don't want it pointed out.

I never said the "misery" of others. Stop lying. I said watching blue states commit suicide. That means the STATES are hurting themselves with high taxes, letting criminals run wild, riots, burning, Draconian laws, etc. I said NOTHING about death. YOU did that.

You said you relax by watching it, which means the thought of them doing bad makes you feel good. Now you are trying to walk it back. Oh, well.....

Me, I take no joy in misery of others, and I am glad you have your limits.
