There's nothing wild about my statement regarding Sanctions, sanctions are far more destructive than people realise and often the changes we are asking for, wreck havoc with people's lives who live in those countries.... refer my comparison between a country that caved South Africa vs a country that did not... Cuba or even Iran.

Looks like mine is backed by France and Denmark. Although you should have known about the Woman and the MEK.

Again....you should have known about the woman from the reports. Also you should have known what France reported.

So no it wasn't juvenile when dealing with one that just is ignorant of the knowledge that was out there. Reported on by France and Denmark. Let me know when you find out about what they reported. Then you can talk about what you didn't know.

A number of countries, not just the United States, are uncomfortable with Nordstream 2. The Americans are much more comfortable with routes through Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus, it gives us more leverage.

American gas is not a serious option, and certainly not the focus of a major diplomatic initiative.

Concerns about Russia will become concerns about Germany, and just as with the former, everyone will want American assistance against the latter.

You're deluding yourself... we're talking about a lot of money here and looking at America's behaviour from the 1950's to today... greed is your number one policy.... state and corporate have merged

    No I'm not.

    Money the Americans won't see.

No, our number one policy is to prevent German capital and technology from cooperating with Russian resources and militarism.

You need to explain why the EU, UK, Italy, Hungary, Poland, and Scaninavians have all expressed discomfort with the pipeline.

How exactly will Americans corporations not see money from Europeans buying their LNG gas... are they giving it away free..

If that was true then why push American LNG down their throat.... let Qatar and others sell to them. The day when no American company sell their LNG to Europe, I will be convinced sanctions on Nordstream is for the reasons you state.

The whole buy American LNG and sanctioning of Nordstream is classic American policy... it's been done for DECADES.. buy our stuff, give American corporations the contracts or we increase tariffs or sanction your companies, assassinate your leaders, overthrow your democracy.... this is by no means the first time America have done this, it's been documented.

Actually I think it should be International law.... all countries that push for sanctions against another's products, should not be allowed to sell the same to markets the sanctioned country lost due to sanctions. It should be serviced by others not involved in sanctions.,..

No, the Europeans just aren't going to buy large amounts of LNG gas.

But Nordstream 2 might be stopped. Probably not. My point is that the Americans want to stop the expansion of Nordstream, whether or not the Europeans buy LNG matters little.

    We're not.

We do. We don't care if Qataris sell gas to the Europeans. Hell, it's been American policy for over half a century to ensure that hydrocarbons from the Middle East arrive safely in Europe.

Okay. Even if you believe that the Americans are fighting on this hill because they just want European money, why are men like Donald Tusk fighting on the same hill?

Okay, let's go through that documentation. When has the United States performed any of these actions because people don't buy our stuff? Considering how little stuff we actually sell to the world, it's a wonder that we haven't invaded everybody by now.

Sanctions are, by necessity, an international effort. The implication is that the most just sanctions, those which are universally accepted by all other nations, involve every country except one. That makes all countries "involved in the sanctions" the only countries, aside from the sanctioned one, that can be purchased from.

Well, excuse me for being old fashioned, but when sanctions fail and the US military steps in....
dont the US oligarchs then make a lot of money...eg the Bush crime family, Cheney, Rumsfeld....
have I left anyone out.......anyone involved in munitions....
They just salivate when sanctions are introduced somewhere...they dont give a stuff
if it creates poverty...so long as they keep the war effort going, the cash keeps rolling in.....

Frankly you are naive and ignorant... LNG demand graph below...don't bullshit me with "we won't sell much LNG" just the biggest eye-roll comment I've ever come across, demand is going to skyrocket.

I honestly also wish you Americans would start educating yourself about how your government treats the rest of the world. Go buy John Perkins' book, confessions of an economic hit man. I'm sick and tired going through this again... and again.... and again.... because people like you can't be bothered then try to tell me..."we would never do something like that". America has, and are and will continue to use any and all means necessary (ethical and unethical) to feed the beast (the American economy)

It's garbage... bullshit... America impose sanctions then force allies to do the same.... those who won't or refuse is threatened like these German companies. Just wake up will you

Besides your whole argument is based on.... "oh we're so scared of the Russians... we have to sanction them" do you even know how ridiculous that sounds... just grow a pair..

    And

this is also the Russian Achilles heel, because they like it when you are scared of them... but this fear of them, is used against them... with sanctions

    No, I'm not.

You know why demand is sky-rocketing? Because East Asians depend on a single strait for the vast majority of their energy needs. European demand has been dropping for years.

But that's fine, you have a graph! It doesn't present any important context, but it's a graph!

Yeah, we stole half of Mexico. I have no illusions about my country. We're bullies, and will be for a long time.

I'm not here to pretend that the United States is an innocent actor on the global stage. I'm taking issue with your characterization of American motives. It just doesn't stack up. We are the most insular major economy of the world, especially in terms of exports. If we're using our power to sell stuff to people, we're doing a ****ing terrible job.

    Of course, we're not.

Read it years ago. Boring crap.

If you really want to understand the world a single sensationalist book is not a good way to do it.

Have you ever read a history book?

Everything is bullshit. Get used to it.

Huh, sounds like we're using economic leverage in geopolitical contests.

Who could've imagined such a state of affairs?

I'm more worried about Germans than I am Russians. The Russians are going to be pawns.

I don't know why the concept of geopolitical contest is "ridiculous" to you. We want to beat the Russians, and will. Sanctions are part of how.

^^ this statement is absurd.... my entire argument is that this is about geopolitical contest. You are arguing America is trying to save eastern Europe... your backflips are impressive.
