A tearful scene unfolded at Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Monday morning, where Jorge Garcia, a father of two and a 30-year resident of Detroit, was deported to Mexico amid cries from his family.

Garcia, 39, was brought to the U.S. by his aunt when he was 10 years old, according to his wife and Michigan United, an immigrant advocacy organization that is working with Garcia. His parents had already immigrated to the country, said Michigan United spokesperson Erik Shelley, who was at the airport this morning as Garcia bid his emotional goodbyes to his wife, Cindy Garcia, and children, ages 15 and 12.

For his family, the parting was devastating. Cindy Garcia told ABC News she is “very sad, very depressed, emotional.”

“It’s like a nightmare,” she said.

I'm going to get heat from my fellow Trump supporters on this one, but this is wrong. The solution is not to kick out men like this who have put down roots, and destroying families.

The solution is give all illegals already here full citizenship and creating the wall, and putting down the harshest measures possible to prevent future illegals from entering.

The collectivist want to give this guy a "Clinton pass" for breaking the law. They are the party of no laws or order.

I think it is truly sad that our media insist on devoting time to these stories, when they so actively fail to spend any time of those in the illegal community who continue to damage, rely on criminal activity, or commit heinous crimes while living in our nation illegally.

This is a choice. It says, ignore because we tell you to, and only concentrate on what we are willing to show you. It's insidious..

Don't give law breakers a pass. Why have immigration laws at all?

We already had a "one time" amnesty 30 years ago with the promise of never having to go through this again. It only incentivized more to come here. Predictably people like you want another one. 30 years from now someone like you will want another one.

You're led by emotion, not logic. How sad that you can't see how you're being manipulated by the media like this. You were their target with this article, and they hit home.

No amnesty, kick all illegal aliens out of the country.

As a republican that makes me sad. It makes me sad that the Mexican and US governments have allowed this to go this far insuring these things can’t be avoided. We could have fixed this years ago, our government has let us down and have let the illegals down as well. Unfortunately, the choice to have laws or not and because congress has been so inept we must choose law and order even when we don’t like it.

If his parents brought him here when he was 9 and then they robbed a bank of $1 million, would he keep the money because he was "innocent"?

so if a parent steals a car and gives it to one of their kids you think the kid should be allowed to keep the car because it was the parent that broke the law not the kid?

Oh C'mon man, when POTUS breaks the law, or when Congress breaks the law, nobody suffers any grief. Get a grip!

I'm personally torn. I agree, that not following through on the bipartisan agreement of 1986, is the reason we're here today. And it makes any deal dubious, if the government does not ensure that the agreement isn't followed through to the letter. At the same time, there are examples of those illegals otherwise living legally(but we also can point to illegals who are in fact living illegally.)

The law is the law is true, but the law should also have compassion. If there are those who want to be a legal resident or citizen of our country, they should be given the fair oppportunity to do so: Learn English, pay a fine, etc.

We would need to deport tens of millions of people in order to begin saving the US from its impending collapse. That would take tough men making tough decisions, not people who see one sad brown face and melt into a puddle of sanctimonious goo.

Hopefully he goes to his home country and enacts the change necessary so we don't have to keep harboring illegal criminals from other nations.

Time's up. This nation is open for business for AMERICANS.

Fix your own country. Don't come here and ruin ours.

Funny how citizens have more rights than illegal immigrants in every single country in the world.

What rights in this country do illegals have that you don't?

Nobody benefits from this country having a Hispanic majority. Well, one group does. It certainly isn't whites or blacks, or even Hispanics. Look at Brazil if you want to see what the future US looks like.

This story is sad, but why in the 29 years he's been here didn't he ever become a citizen?

Sure, the process is difficult, but I have Mexican friends who have done it. You want to see people with zero tolerance for illegals? Talk to a Mexican who has immigrated legally...

I'm with you on the first part. As for the second, you may find pretty quickly how little of them want full citizenship, but yeah, if they don't want it, they can go not have it some place else.

30 years in the country, has this fellow even tried to be naturalized? No amnesty, get in line like the all immigrants. I don't want to give 11 million (estimated) illegals the right to vote for breaking the law.

Apparently, this guy has been in contact with local immigration authorities, to the tune of 120K but no dice. It's a very strange situation.
