We pay into unemployment and should be able to use it when necessary. It is insurance and benefits should only be paid when the employee becomes unemployed due to no fault of their own. They don't receive benefits if they quit or are fired for stealing.

Minimum wage can go to $25.00 and hour and the employee will spend their money in businesses charging more to meet the demand of paying their own employees $25.00, and will be no better off. The only one getting a raise is the IRS!

The government can only hinder. While I am not a Trump supporter, he did reduce the tax burden on businesses and is less of a hindrance than Obama. I hope you still like seeing Americans prosper.

Last evening I watched on PBS a Frontline program that concerned this discharged Woman Marine E7 Sgt and her fight with Government. I mention this to illustrate that Government does not help, it prevents.

She was in CA and met a Mexican male and fell in love. She bore him 2 children. She was a Vet and collecting disability pay. She went to college using her GI education benefits.

She and he moved to her hometown in Ohio where her family was and she knew she had her family base to help with the kids.

He is driving one day and is stopped by the cops in Ohio. HE is arrested and deported to Mexico. She ended up moving to Mexico 2 different times where life is terrible for her and her children. She is white and both her and her children are in danger in Mexico. He and her moved to Yucatan from Mexico City for safety reasons. He can't locate a job in Yucatan. She now has 4 kids by him and it seems like they will never live in America again.

My major point is this crap happens to business too. We face a barrage of regulations. We can't take a piss with out permission of Government. I do not like those favoring government.

Now that's funny because all we hear from Trumpers is that Trump is the reason for the economy, but we can never get any actual things he did other than some broad answer of this and that.

First he rushed to cut taxes. But more than that, he worked hard to get more work in this country. And he worked on trade deals to fix them.

I am not one of those who gives Trump all the credit though. But Business has responded as has the financial markets. They realize what good he has done.

With his getting it from 7.5%, after the Republicans handed he and his fellow Democrats 4.5% two years early, to 10% and keeping it over 8% for the next four years while the LFPR went over the cliff.

 

Lower taxes and regulation, and better energy policy like that pipeline Obama foolishly blocked. Is it just a coincidence the US is now one of the world's biggest oil producers?
