United Airlines to Require All U.S. Employees Be Vaccinated Against Covid-19

United Airlines Holdings Inc. will require its 67,000 U.S. employees to be vaccinated this fall, the first major airline to take this step as the Delta variant drives a nationwide increase in Covid-19 infections.


Airlines including United have so far tried to encourage workers to be vaccinated voluntarily, with incentives such as bonus pay or extra vacation.


In a letter to employees Friday, Chief Executive Scott Kirby and President Brett Hart said they expected that some would disagree with the decision but said the move was necessary to keep workers safe.

This is not "Science". Why would you require those with natural immunity that have already had CV-19 to take the vaccine?

I hope enough of the employees are upset with enough job opportunities elsewhere quit making United a trash airline that can't get the workforce needed to operate. I would quit.

This was just a "Conspiracy Theory" a few months back. We told you so.

It is strange how conservatives switch so rapidly between demanding companies be able to do business with and employ whoever they want vs whining about it when they do just that.

 

They stated they are doing it to keep their employees safe. Shouldn't that be up to the employee? While I work for myself, I never before depended on my employer to take responsibility for my own personal health choices.

Many companies are doing this, I have a close family member on the business side of Walmart and they are also required to get vaxed.

 

But in all seriousness arent they always like that?

I recently flew on United. To a person, the crew, the staff all said they had already been fully vaccinated. So sounded like folks took advantage of their ability under essential work to already become vaccinated. Does it mean anything now? Likely not as even those of us who are vaccinated suddenly find ourselves as the "culprits" in spreading COVID and are now being demonized for having gone back to our lives as if we could.

 

It's their choice. When it bites them in the ass and people quit in mass... that will also be a choice.

Very few people support federally mandated vaccinations. I support people making their own decisions even if that removes them from the population.

 

Somebody help a brutha out. I thought a vaccinated person would would only get a sniffle if he or she catches the virus again. So requiring unvaccinated people to get vaccines to protect people who would only get a sniffle seems more or less like people trust the vaccine until you’re actually vaccinated and then they don’t. Does anyone know how many vaccinated people got seriously sick or died from the virus?

 

How is your employer entitled to you medical records? HIPA

How is your employed allowed to threaten you job, under duress, for an experimental vaccine? Especially, if you have already had the virus and have natural antibodies?

I'm glad I'm well paid and work for a family owned business who would never do this. It's an open secret a % of employees smoke weed and they dont care. No one is demanded to pee in a cup.
