Agree wholeheartedly. It’s disgusting to walk into a stall after someone has peed standing up. If you’re in a stall, sit down.
The process of evolution has granted men the right not to have sit or squat tomurinate so we do not have to sit.
Holy schiest man that looks dangerous. There has to be millions of deaths in places with those things.
Evolution has also granted men the intelligence to know when they are leaving a disgusting mess for the next person. Being considerate is a manly trait.
my guess is like the hospitals here, all bathrooms become gender neutral and thus you need less bathrooms - I hardly ever see anyone waiting in line for the bathrooms at the hospital
This has been an interesting thread. I think its just another example of the need for conservatives to be perpetually outraged. Must have been a slow day so they dug this up.
The story behind the ice in the urinals. It goes back to the late 1800's when women were not allowed in bars except prostitutes and men would stand drinking at the bar. Back in the day there were laws, if you were drinking you had to be standing up or sitting on a chair at a table. When mother nature would call they would whip it out and let it go. At the bottom of the front bar was a tile throughs built into the floor and was kept full with ice.
That's the way i'd go.... banning urinals is not a smart idea, no matter the thought processes behind it... Speed is the name of the game in the can...
There is no guessing according to plumbing codes. It can be a guessing game at times though. For one stadium design, we actually proposed a movable partition between men's and women's restrooms that could be changed accordingly depending on the venue.
There are literally millions of them in the ME, parts of Africa and Asia. I did a huge prison in SA that only had "Eastern Style" floor toilets.
I dont think it's a big deal and better for fathers out with their young daughters who are too young to go into the womans bathroom by themselves..
Do you have an issue with that? Is it that important that you get to watch someone poo or urinating? I doubt it that many people care about it either way since I think there are bigger issues of concern to agonize over as opposed to being able to watch someone urinate or poo publicly.
Can you elaborate as to why you find it to be a waste of material to have both sinks and urinals? Both serve a separate function.
It was although since ADA accessible stalls are usually located at the end of a toilet room, that presented other challenges. For each X number of occupants we are required to add additional accessible stalls. Different governing Plumbing codes will give you the required amount of fixtures required for each sex (if not 50/50) but the ADA, actually a federal civil rights law governs the required number of accessible stalls each needing a 5' x 5' compartment with grab bars, accessible height toilet and toilet accessories all at heights and reaches that differ from a standard toilet compartment. The International Building Code is what most cities have adopted in the USA, with amendments. Since local jurisdictions couldn't directly adopt a Federal Civil Rights law as part of their building code, they amended ANSI National Standards that closely follow ADA and ADA guidelines, that is enforceable at a local or state level. In situations like large stadiums we will usually design to exceed the minimums required. If an owner wants to dispute building code requirements, we can meet with building officials for variances usually based on factual studies of usage frequency. We can sometimes use formulas, similar to how we plan the number and speed of elevators in various building types.
