It may be considered, but I still don't think it would happen. I'd rather be Chinese than have a nuclear war.

agreed....but right now Goldman Sachs is in bed with washington along with many european nations.......and until as you say these countries tell the bankers to shove it as you stated then there is no hope.

The US has also lost much of her industry....this is another hurdle that must be overcome but thats another story altogether!

    Any war can be won.

The most vital Chinese urban centers are all near the coasts.

Ultimately the U.S. would need to ally with other regional powers such as South Korea, Japan, Philippines, and Vietnam in order to put large enough ground forces for occupation duties.

The U.S. could probably put together a ground force of about 1 million on its own once all Army and Marine Corps units were fully committed and every last reserve and National Guard unit was activated. And perhaps with a brief recruiting effort.

Assume 500,000 troops from the nations mentioned and you have a land force of 1.5 million.

Traditional Asian occupation levels have been one soldier per 500 occupied citizens.

That would give the occupation force the ability to control around 750 million people. A pretty decent chunk of the Chinese population for starters.

Look America and China played a game and both have lost. We need to work with them to cut both our chains. If they fall we will survive but the fact is they are the only (ONLY) reasonably supplier of many resources that are not abundant in the world.

If we fall they will hit harder than us but they will survive as well.

A war on the other hand is un-winnable for either side. It would be similar to North Korea except North Korea China is not. They are a dragon that is strong and they should be worked with unless it is impossible to do. If it can not be done then just leave them alone.

All china has to do is offer better welfare benefits and they win. Hell look at the current situation. No matter how bad it gets people still get their checks and give their votes. If China offered to double entitlements there would be a revolt and the US would fall.

I think it helps the U.S. a lot that most of their population is along the coasts. We can better use our superior naval power and prevent heavy land losses.

Neither china nor the Us would be able to afford a war with another. China gets food and supplies from us and we can consumerist factory items form them. Even if it came down to a legitimate war no side would be able to get anywhere. China has no way of making landfall in the U.S due to the superior naval and air forces. While the U.S. has the potential for landfall there is simply too many people in china to win out. They have raw numbers and that is about it, we also have no will to occupy a land we have fought in. It has been demontrated time and again we would just give them whatever ground we took back if we ever won the war which as previosuly mentioned is extreamly unlikely.

People were saying the exact same thing about World War One.

That no European nation could afford a war and that even if they could, the banks didn't have enough money to pay for more than a few months of war.

They were wrong then and now.

When nations want to fight, they'll find a way.

China owns most of our debt, so I don't think it matters much. Otherwise, we owe most of our debt to ourselves.

you say that almoat as though it is a good thing......the fed buying back treasuries is effectively monetizing the debt. In case you didn't know this is exactly what weimar germeny did in 1921 to keep interest rates low. And we all know what the end result of that was right? Hope you have a wheel barrel handy as you might need it to go and buy bread LOL!

    1) Shock 'n Awe them on a pleasant evening.

    2) Bring plenty of purple ink.

    3) Declare victory.

    4) Come home.

Yes, Germany had debt problems. To reverse these problems, you can build up the military and invade other countries and ignore paying back debt which is what Hitler did.

but how is that the solution? He just accomplished in the destruction of his nation! Its one thing for america attacking some third world mickey mouse nation...its totally another to start attacking several G8 countries as this will threaten the very peace of all nations and I am willing to bet this will end in a nuclear war and who the hell would win that?

    Incorrect.

IIRC, the China holds something like 20-25% of American debt.

Want to know one of the other leading holders of U.S. debt?

    The British?

It is a tragedy your ancestors, who gave the world such a genius like you, could come to a sorry end at the hands of the early European invaders.
