    So terribly uninformed you are.
You clearly never heard of the NLF (Viet Cong to you) ... who they were ... what they believed .... what they did ... who they were fighting.

The shame is that you are running on a tank full of absurd, mental fuddling. I am a veteran who fought against the NLF and my experience and subsequent understanding of that war makes me wonder if you are locked away in your grandmother's basement. The things you say prove that you know absolutely nothing about the war or the slightest inclination of anything to do with politics.

The things you say I have never heard from anyone ... right, left, capitalist, socialist, public, private, media, scholars, etc.

As was Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao. One reason human history is so sad is because we are so replete with villains. Some seek refuge from that sorrowful truth in finding saving graces among them.

This isn't a left wing - right wing peacnik vs conservative thing. It's an America 1st thing. We have no business fighting other people's wars. We have to get our troops out of the middle east.

If Iraq wants us out, then there is no justification for us staying in Iraq.

But, but, but, didn't we cause the mess? :confuse:

Oh, that's why we support terrorists, so they'll like us and not come here? Brilliant!:oldman:

I have news for you, we're not fighting other people's wars, we're the ones instigating the wars.

When an American senator went to Mount Athos in the 90's, to meet the future Saint Paisios, the Elder refused to look at him. When someone asked him why, the response was that if it wasn't for the US, there would be no wars.

I find it strange that the greatest villains such as Lenin and Trotsky, who were probably the most responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of Christians in Russia, are never mentioned. Are some people being held in lesser value than others?

Ok. So you’re not a commie. And you hate capitalism, which has lifted billions of people out of poverty.

Perhaps you prefer a pre-industrial economy?

Preventing terrorists from flying planes into our buildings is a reasonable goal. If that means going to certain places around the globe and destroying their base camps, so be it.

But we're not destroying the terrorist camps, we're destroying the people who are fighting them. Whenever Assad was winning a battle against the terrorists, all the terrorists had to do is have a false flag chemical attack, and the US would bomb the Syrian army without any hesitation.

I think that war was much like the blind men describing an elephant. How you saw it was what part touched you.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. You quoted my post where I stated the facts about the NLF. That is the point of my post. Are you saying that you don't believe me or that it isn't true?

I'm saying I think how you saw it was based on where your role took you and what you saw.

Global history is full of tribal violence. Yes, without the US, there would be war. (20 Swedes chased through the weeds by 1 good Norwegian!: can you believe such bellicose thoughts existed between such similar peoples?) But I hear you. There is a ton of money and power instigating war/ taking a side. Very difficult to keep our ruling elites from doing this. The Dems are at least as much into this as the Repubs. Where is our anti war party? You could ask Tulsi but she's being de-personed.

It's not isis that is the main reason why US could not leave Iraq, there is a big possibility that Iraq will become Russia's next Syria.

We should have never invaded Iraq and we should not have any more dealings with them. Iran came to their rescue when Isis laid siege to the country.

What I saw, the role I played, and what I did was only the first part of my consciousness. The second part was a reassessment of the first by way of education and better/honest understanding of the facts. In other words, my (our) experience in the Vietnam War wasn't representative of the motivation I (we) was given for being there. "It didn't make sense" and every one of us knew that. Every one of us. It was my in-depth study afterwards that put everything into perspective. It all makes sense now and it isn't pretty. Some of us understand that now but some prefer to believe that the earth is flat and that Mary was a virgin.

Maybe I'm not up to date on the latest info, but the report I heard said the missile attack came from within Iran. So, did we bomb a location in Iraq by mistake or is my info wrong?

I didn't click on the link. You did not post anything from the link - unfortunately - something that supports your claim preferably - it is good form - and I believe forum policy to do this .. so you may have actually violated a rule :)

That said - I agree with your claim 100% - I would go as far as to claim that Iraq is already Russia's next Syria - and we can throw China into the mix - as they have partnered - the RC Consortia if you will. RCI if you include India - who also bought the S-400 - TSo urkey being the other - despite massive US protest and threats in both cases.

The war on terror - Al Qaeda/ISIS - was a false narrative and a sham to begin with. The Iraq had nothing to do with Al Qaeda and in fact was a blood enemy of Al Qaeda - being a "Secular" nation. Yet it was attacked on the basis of "The war on Terror". This was a fellow who we supported while using Chemical weapons - against Iran and Kurds- a short time earlier - and then desert storm - and then sanctions for a decade up until this point these sanctions killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's.

What really took us into Orwellian Doublespeak territory is nary a decade after 911 - we are leading a multi national effort to arm, supplying, and supporting a radical Islamist proxy army in Syria - an army led by Al Qaeda and affiliated spawn.

The goal of this proxy army is to rid the ME of the dreaded "Secularism" and turn Syria into an Strict Sharia Nightmare - similar to - and along the same ideological perspective - as our Brother El Saud.

The purpose of Afghanistan, Syria - was to destabilize these regions - by what ever means should the opportunity present itself. Some claim that this purpose was because of Assad's refusal to allow US-Qatar -Israel - and other interests a pipeline through its land. Afghanistan the same - the route through which is known as part of "The new silk road" energy corridor to the hungry China/India market.

Now to your claim. For Obvious reasons your average Iraqi is not real fond of the US - few would not have a close relative not killed due to some US action both Sunni and Shia. The Sunni obviously hate us - our friends are then supposedly Shia - and it was we who installed the Shia regime. Now while Shia would be happy about getting rid of Assad - in Desert Storm Daddy Bush betrayed the Shia - dropping leaflets inciting them to arise - and they did - and were about to overthrow Saddam . At the time we had control of the airspace - no fly zone. Bush then allowed Saddam to put down the Rebellion using air power. So there is some history there.

But hold on here - Installing a Shia Regime right away puts Iraq on good footing with Iran- as it was those evil Sunni that Gassed Iran - not the Shia. Iran is the El Saud of Shia. So there is this pressure - Iraq has not been in favor of our Iran Policy .. and openly against some of it.

The Assad regime was backed both by Russia and China and Iran. The Saudi's- and gulf nations, Turkey, Qatar, Israel and the West supported the extremist Islamist side. Russia/Syria/Iran defeated the Islamist proxy army - sans Idlib where the last of the Al Qaida spawn still fighting are held up. This was a disaster of epic proportions - 500,000 dead - rape, forced marriage, war crimes, crimes against humanity. Strict Sharia - "Dark Age Style" ... the people living in the cities taken over by our proxy army - woke up to a nightmare.

Obama's legacy will take a hit in the History books for Syria.

This is now coupled with Trump waging economic war on every nation in the world that matters - Not talking Trade wars here - but, the Iran Sanctions - in particular - forcing other nations to comply with these unilateral sanctions using the "Nuclear Option" - threatening to block banks/corps out of the international system of payments if they do not comply. This resulted in a universal and global backlash "You are threatening our sovereignty" was stated - by our allies - not on in private but, publicly on the international stage.. the big middle finger.

They then complied with the sanctions - but are hitting back economically. Every time we turn around "FU" India and Turkey - S-400 FU
Italy - Belt and Road - FU, Germany Nordstream - FU, Iraq - GE - rebuilding infrastructure - FU, The EU - South America and numerous others 5G - Huaweii - FU.

The list goes on. While Trump is going around with a big club trying to beat our allies and every other nation that matters into submission - China and Russia are going around doing deals.
