The OP's article is talking about 2021. The OP is discussing cities. The OP article has an updated chart. The rate is 6.9 and the 1997 rate is 6.7.

I'll concede the point about the chart. I was confused by the way you warped it. You see... I can admit when I F-ed up. Why do you continue to mislead the forum?

Easy to see how the other side is to blame. Problematic to see how a preferred side is to blame also. I agree that the left is a part of the problem… as is the right. No blameless political parties here. The predictable response is; Ya, but the left is worse. Each will say the other is more to blame. I say both need to quit acting like children and look inward to see how a prefer group is part of the problem then apply solutions. Just blaming the other side or saying they are worse is not a solution… it is a huge part of the problem!

States with the highest murder rates are RED STaTES per 100,000 of population by far.

You can't understand why criminals feel emboldened to do crime when they watched and continue to watch unprotected crimes like looting and arson, while cops have been scrutinized, even slandered by many, and democrats stood by and watched criminals doing nothing for pure political reasons? Really?

    Lol.

Sometimes I have to wonder if city dwellers have ever left the city. You think there is more value in the city over the suburbs? In small rural communities. Lol. Really?

    No.

There is less chance to get caught.

    Yeah?

And are those from red rural areas or blue cities in those red states?

You can't read a chart that's a direct copy/paste, isn't my problem. I showed the history of homicides in USA going back way before 25 yrs ago. It shows what the rate was in 1997 and one can infer if 2021's rate exceeded that. No one has proven that it has.

You just need to get your daily dose of Dem bashing in. With no real point to the topic at all.

The OP refers back 25 yrs to 1997. The chart I posted shows the rate back in 1997. The OP didn't give any reference to then and 2021.

Warped? LOL. I posted the chart that relates to homicide. And you think that was warped. PLEASE!!!!!

Care to give examples? Don’t dare say states like Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana where all that crime stems from the blue cities with inner-city trash like Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, etc…

Democrats hate to see their constituents families go to jail, to they want leniency to the idiotic felony level we have in blue states. Murderers and violent felons cannot be released with a slap on the back and a “atta-boy”.
Who does that? Affirmative action DA’s funded by George Soros, that’s who.

Suppose George Soros is getting a lot of bang for his buck? He sure poured a lot into attorney general races in blue states!

Except the biggest increases are in Republican / purple states, at least in 2020 as 2021 numbers are not out yet. There is no need to scapegoat, it is just facts

    upload_2022-1-20_5-12-44.png

    Montana (+84%), South Dakota (+81%), Delaware (+62%) and Kentucky (+61%), New York (+47%), Pennsylvania (+39%), Illinois (+38%), Ohio (+38%) and California (+36%).

    https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...ut-the-increase-in-u-s-murders-in-2020/?amp=1

When you break it into cities the trend changes to mostly Democrat as very very few large cities are ran by Republicans. I think maybe one out of the top 10.

I don't know what the F you're talking about. This biggest increases occurred in Blue States and Democrat Metro Areas in Republican States, while the the largest percentage increase per 100 thousand happened in a few Midwestern States like Montana due to the small number of homicides (50). The highest rates Occurred in Blue Metros of Southern States and Northern Democrat States with large BLM populations. There are 54 cities with 100,000 population that aren't accurately reporting their data, because apparently all Democrats hide important information. I'm confused cause it seems like you're conflating an Increase of the Sum with a Percentage Increase per 100,000. Blue States have huge populations so a 47% increase in NY and 36% increase in California is F-ing massive.

The CDC has not yet published the total number of murders in the U.S. in 2020. But according to the FBI, there were 21,570 murders last year, up 29% from 16,669 in 2019 and the highest annual total since 1995. The FBI figures include nonnegligent homicides as well as murders, but the agency’s figures are incomplete because not all law enforcement agencies submit data (Sourced in Below Paragraph). https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...ut-the-increase-in-u-s-murders-in-2020/?amp=1

Some 54 police agencies that cover populations of over 100,000 people didn’t report data for all 12 months of 2020. That’s roughly 1 out of every 10 agencies operating at such a level, and includes the police departments in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Atlanta—which reported 11 months, 4 months, and 3 months’ worth of data respectively. Philadelphia’s police department reported around 200 murders to the FBI, for example, when in reality the city tracked 499 murders—its highest since 1990.

Limited data were available in the 2020 UCR for areas in Alabama, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Illinois, though these places were not excluded from analysis. https://247wallst.com/economy/2021/...e-american-city-with-the-highest-murder-rate/

Exactly. Lol at anyone who really thinks the biggest increase is in red states. Lmao. Even in red states it’s blue areas seeing bigger changes and even then it’s blue states that are seeing the biggest changes over all.

    This is dems America.

    Its pointless, Iv tried.
They fail to question WHY they don't ever run successful metropolitan areas that attract the greatest minds...Because how ever bad it is now, under their control it would be worse, or unattractive.

There is a reason all the rich city folks from California are buying up all the land in rural America :)

Then why are the wages always sub par?
Why isnt rural America Buying up the land, why are the residents of metropolitan areas able to buy up all the land?

I have lived in Florida since the 1990s, and it would be beyond foolish to leave your door open, so nothing has changed in that regard. About crime, - things just fell off the cliff in 2020. It will take time to get back to normal.

All cities of any significant size.

LMAO, subpar compared to ghetto's, projects and slums? We have NONE OF THAT HERE :) People live in homes here that would sell for two million in Cali, the roads here are cluttered with 100k 3/4 ton 4X4 and in the summer they pull 90K boats, 190K fifth wheels, 20k side by sides and the list goes on and on..

You simply only know, what you think you know :)

You make an interesting observation. When I started posting on PF years ago I thought there were way more lefties here, possibly 70 percent, but now I would agree with the 70 percent RW. Why do you suppose that is? The fact that a lot of liberal posters stopped posting after the last election indicates to me they were likely part of the fifty cent Army. But maybe what we see is simply some manifestation of the 80/20 rule. I don't want to preach to the choir so I like to see diverse opinions on issues.
