What is going on in the world these days with cops being attacked? This cop, to his credit, quickly realized he was going to die if he didn’t react and shot the guy. Without the dash and body cameras the cop would be in all kinds of trouble. These are the cameras the ACLU heavily promoted only to later call them an invasion of privacy and wanted them not to be used. https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status/1538272765022769154
I'm a ACLU member. They are trying to find a balance that protects people's rights, and privacy, while gathering information that's vital.
OH BS. Maybe at one time, but they are now sold out Left Wing whores like all the rest. They are best suited for the job of changing Amber Heard's sheets.
The lack of anything worth responding to is duly noted. Back in the real world, you have to balance competing needs and interests. Assuming you're not in it to get emo..
In this situation the cameras may have prevented the cop from getting in trouble and then there are the riots that didn’t happen because this was proven to be a good shoot.
choosing to fight an armed cop with an ax, that sounds like suicide by cop cop cams should always be worn, if they are not, the cops actions are questionable imo - they protect cops and citizens I do have issues with only releasing them when they make the criminal look bad though, release them as fast when the cops look bad too a 3rd party should review all video
They are sold out whores. Ask former ACLU head, Ira Glasser, the ACLU ended its defining commitment to free speech values, I simply acknowledge the termination. The ACLU has become a parody of its own self even celebrating the legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg by editing her own words as offensive. "In the Depp-Heard trial, the ACLU finally hit the rock bottom as an organization in free fall. It ultimately was the reputation of the ACLU, not Depp, that may have suffered the most in the trial. Ironically, for critics, Amber Heard became the fitting face and ambassador of the ACLU: conflicted, confused, and corrupted." https://jonathanturley.org/2022/06/...llapse-of-a-celebrated-civil-liberties-group/ They crapped the bed.
When your society is bigger than a village, and is full of unknowable transients (meaning people not lifetime-invested in place and each other), you have no option but to make the rules clear, and then practice zero tolerance. Anything less is wilful destruction of said society.
You still need to balance competing rights, interests, and needs. Been that way since the beginning of the country, although back then it showed up mostly in common law.
Here’s a little more on this story. https://nypost.com/2022/06/20/video-illinois-cop-fatally-shoots-man-rushing-at-him-with-axe/
