Due to the fact he attacked the officer who spoke to him and tried to wrestle his gun off him as he was high on drugs and had just committed a violent robbery. How would YOU have handled the situation?

 

For the simple fact he chose to engage in violence against a law enforcement officer. Something that is not acceptable in the united states under any circumstances. Just as George Floyd decided to resist arrest.

 

Like I said, this specific implementation of the restraint method could be discussed, but that doesn't change the fact that it IS a police department approved method of restraint.

Have you seen the new footage? It very clearly shows that Floyd was very strung up on fentanyl, very uncooperative with police, he specifically requested to be laid on the ground since he didn't wish to sit in the cop car, and he started his "I can't breathe" claims (along with some claims about death/ dying that I can't specifically remember) long before any cop ever knelt on him to restrain him. Those cops were VERY patient and accommodating with a man who died of cardiac arrest due to the drugs in his system and the continued resistance of arrest.

Given what I have seen, I don't see this ending in a murder charge, and I wouldn't be surprised if more riots break out after the cop gets cleared of the murder charge...

 

he was dying, I bet most would struggle a bit if someone was killing them slowly over 10 minutes - this was murder - he was handcuffed - already restrained, this was uncalled for

since theyre protesting about the murder of floyd by overseer chauvin then its fair to call them protesters but we get the racsits argument that crooked cops should be allowed to shoot and kill black folk for no reason, thats why they are racists after all, its not rocket science, pretty black and white.
