The Republican Party is mostly white, as is most of the country, so running an "OWM" for the GOP is still plausible. But this thread is about the Democrats. That is a declining population for the party, and an unpopular one. They've had enough privilege.

And I firmly believe Obama will still be relevant in politics when it counts... His basic silence over the past 18 months is going to pay off when he throws his support behind SELECT candidates this fall and big time in 2020...

I'm afraid the D primaries are going to be VERY clogged up early on.... Everybody is going to throw their hat in.... Throw in another name who's got some backing but has said he won't run.... Chris Murphy Conn.... He does very well on TV and his youth will appeal to certain factions...

I don't think Kaine (or MacAuliffe if we are talking Virginians) will get much traction... people are going to associate him with Hillary unfortunately... Personally, I'd prefer Warner over Kaine if a VA guy runs...
