I prefer Trump's diplomacy over that of the Obama left. Trump built relationships with both Russia and North Korea, efforts that were long overdue. We still have to recognize that they aren't our BFF's but we can deal with them as if they were for the most part and stand strong when it's called for.

Offering Kim a ride home was very Trump, nobody else would have done so and that is the kind of thing that can bring real change. I wish he had accepted it. I wish I had 4 more years to watch this man startle the status quo to their roots by shortcutting the BS. Maybe I will have.

I actually do like what Merkel has done for the home of my German ancestors -- except for throwing it open to the all the crap from the Middle East. There was no justification for THAT at all.

She was definitely very smart to cooperate with Russia with Nord Stream 2. Yes, it would surely be "Wahnsinn" for you to have to buy LNG sent on tanker ships from halfway around the world, from Coos Bay, Oregon, just to make America happy.

A closer relationship with Russia is probably in your overall best interest, really. But, believe me, Trump was not Putin's "stooge". The question before us now is: will Biden be able to play international "chess" with a master like Putin? Ich glau' NICHT....

Speaking you mind is good, but if crap is on your mind, crap is what comes out of your mouth.

Such was the case with Donald Trump.

Right's looneybirds are mainstream, and the far right are not eschewed.

On the left, they are so far on the fringe they are not even party members, and respond, not from words from dem leaders, but mostly police brutality. The right loons are plotting to overthrow the government, promote white supremacy, and carry Trump flags.

There is NO equivalent to that on the left, sorry.

Trump's "American relationship with Russia and NK" is an illusion. To them, Trump was their 'useful idiot'.

Trump's legacy was the most destructive to America and what it stands for, lowering it's status in the world, giving photos and soundbites to Russia and NK they can use as anti-democracy propaganda for years to come, not to mention his gross incompetency handling covid which resulted in the needless deaths of many 10s of thousands.

And you have failed to refute my rebuttal.

Anyone can say anything. I can say your post is BS. So can a child, anyone can claim such a thing.

    It takes no effort.

In short, yours is a cop out.

The simple fact remains, you cannot refute my comment, because it will take effort.

Claiming someone's post is BS, rather than make the effort at refutation, with logic, examples, evidence, requires effort.

But, you choose the lazy man's way out, a cop out.

Given that fact, the odds are that your comment is BS, not mine.

I'm willing to go the distance.

    You are not.

Therefore, not only you are stepping in bullshit, you are wallowing in it.

Trump was the first US President who tried to forceably retain power. That alone makes him far different than any previous president.

When he asked his followers to protest peacefully and patriotically and then begged them to stop the violence when a small minority didn't?

For intersecting reasons the America white blue collar Republicans and Christian conservatives are nostalgic for is the America that existed from the end of the Second World War to perhaps the assassination of President Kennedy.

The Second World War destroyed the factories of our trade rivals, while leaving ours intact. This gave American manufacturers a buyers' market for natural resources and a sellers' market for what they produced. Nevertheless, they faced a sellers' market for labor. The Immigration Reform Act of 1924 restricted the number of immigrants white men with only high school degrees needed to compete with for jobs. The birth rate had been low during the Great Depression and the Second World War, so fewer people were entering the job market. In addition, blacks and women were discriminated against in hiring.

The civil rights legislation and the women's liberation movement required poorly educated white men to compete economically with blacks and women. The immigration Reform Act of 1965 required them to compete with immigrants.

White blue collar workers also benefited from conditions Republicans prefer not to talk about. From 1946 to 1963 labor unions were stronger, with one third of the work force in labor unions. The top tax rate was higher, so taxes could be lower for lower middle class whites.

Christian conservatives are nostalgic for the moral ethos of the time. Most Americans were affiliated with a church. Rates of illegitimacy and divorce were much lower.

The fact that most white blue collar workers and Christian conservatives supported a corrupt, licentious, pagan plutocrat like Trump is evidence of their desperation, and the gullibility Trump has always exploited.

I cannot altogether disagree with you, especially in your recollection of those very relevant 20th-century historical points. I'm not so harsh on Trump as you are, but, ah, 'shades-of-grey'.... Trump never was "my guy", but compared to Obama he was like an oxygen tank to a man dying of carbon monoxide poisoning!

Nevertheless, I would posit that America can NEVER "be great again" until/unless the U. S. Tax Code is re-written entirely, from start to finish, with the complete removal of ALL loopholes, shelters, deductions, exclusions, exemptions, and 'carried-interest'.

"All wars are economic wars"... and I would extend that context to include, "All political concerns are economic concerns"! Whatever else this 'disparity' argument encompasses, we may agree that its origin is found clearly within the completely unfair methodology the government uses to tax our incomes!

Wealth is built on the foundation of disposable income which is the residue after actually paying (PAYING) the tax indicated by the "tax bracket"....

Your response is why it is completely useless to discuss politics with a Trump Supporter. Seriously, it is a complete waste of time which is why I don't post much anymore and would like to stop completely. Trump supporters aren't less educated or less intelligent (on the whole), but they live in a completely different universe. On Earth 1 (we'll call this reality), Trump lost a completely legitimate election, and then summoned his cult to Washington and set them to attack Congress to stop the certification of the count. On top of that, he directed them to attack his own VP because he didn't do whatever illegal stuff Trump wanted him to do. On whatever Earth you and your fellow travelers live on, Trump was a great president who won the election by millions of votes and is only out of power because the election was stolen from him. Then he held a rally exhorting his completely not violent, completely not crazed followers to be peaceful and sprung to action as soon as members of Antifa pretending to be Trump supporters violently attacked the Capitol.

Also on your Earth, the Green New Deal which doesn't exist anywhere on Earth 1 was responsible for the devastation in Texas last week. It wasn't lack of winterization, it was windmills not working in the cold although they work just fine in Antarctica and Space, two places far colder than Texas.

Arguing with Trump supporters is a waste of time. I am presently wasting my time. Nothing anyone writes will bring a Trump supporter to this reality. For our country's sake, we just have to hope non-Trump supporters can get more people to the polls for every election than the Trump horde is able to. We can't get them to our reality. We can only try to outvote them.
