Please kindly tell me what you think.

By "optional tax" I mean tax on things that you are not required to buy.

For example, UK introduced "VAT" which was for luxury items. It then got expanded to include pretty much everything, but the original luxury tax made sense, until they perverted the principle of it.

For example, boats, mansions, expensive jewelry etc. should have a large tax attached.

Also, booze and cigarettes I think should have a huge tax attached. Right now, in some places, it's like 3/4 of what you pay for your smokes is tax. Which I support.

And speeding ticket fines should be very high. Because you don't have to speed, and speeding is reckless endangerment. Huge corporations that do business in the USA should pay USA tax and not be granted exemptions like they currently are by congress. Some of the biggest companies pay zero tax.

Lottery tickets should be taxed as well.

Conversely, there should be ZERO tax on food, clothing, and utilities including electric and heat for an individual residence unlike Al Gore's mansion.
