Religion divides human beings from one another! It breeds sectarian conflicts whether in Northern Ireland (in the years past) in Iraq and elsewhere.
Listen, Pause, and Reflect on Christopher Hitchens' brilliant observations.

Don't need to watch. 100% agree if he stands for what you say he does. The "Christians" I know are the most hateful, vile, unforgiving, hypocritical and self-righteous people I've EVER met in my life. I'm glad I walked away from the nonsense. My only regret is I didn't do it sooner.

Prepare for incoming "But that wasn't the *true* religion." and "but you haven't met a *real* Christian who lives their faith." <smh>

Oh yeh radical Hitchens, did you include the brothers in arms, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett? LOL

    My religion: Im agnostic;

I disagree with you and the lame reasoning behind the people in your clip,

therefore I chose a different philosophy,

I summarily reject their neoatheist nonsense as bunk,

we are now 100% divided, and without any deity involvement!

Please feel free to explain how exercising and living differing philosophies is any better than differing religion, not to mention I strongly believe my position, and live it, and they strongly believe theirs, and live it, hence its their religion versus my religion.

so where does that leave your OP?

Do you suggest we start amputating everyones brains to avoid disagreement?

Disagreement is the focus of this thread is not?

Disagreement is being blamed on to religion and it is what you and all these other threads are trying to abolish is it not?

Yea, look what atheists like Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, etc., etc., etc., did. Oceans of blood and mountains of dead bodies was atheism's gift to humanity in the 20th century.

That's the most hateful thing I've read in this forum. Unforgiving and self-righteous. Trying to divide people is the atheist way...

I think it's safe to say that atheism "divided" people from their lives in the 20th century. I have to laugh when atheists want to discuss how many people have died "in the name of religion".

It's my opinion that they do this because they have committed some vile grievous sin and refuse to apologize for it and refuse to repent. Just like most liberal Democrats, they blame everyone else for their stupid decisions.

Hitler was not an atheist. He believed in Jesus, a liberal Jew. Stalin studied for the priesthood when a teenager and probably never weaned himself off of Christianity especially when Hitler invaded Russia. Stalin in those dark day of WWII secretly attended mass. Mao was probably was not believer in Christianity. He just thought himself Godlike. Ditto for Pol Pot.

LOL...riiiiiiiight. Stalin was an avowed atheist but you believe that, secretly, he was a big advocate for the teachings of Christ? LOL again. Thanks for the laugh!

Unfortunately, most atheists just dive straight into religio-statism, worshiping at the altar of political authority as the savior and defender of mankind.

at the loving church of marxist atheism with the motto, 'kill em all let G/god sort em out'
Its never what these people 'appear' to be, you look at their 'actions', which is precisely why philosophy and ethics are meaningless as there is no action attached. When there is its religion :)

It's always ironic to read an op about how divisive religions are, how they divide peoples and create conflict...directly followed by a post like this.

    nonsense (if thats agreement)
    people 'choose' their religion
because it supports and amplifies their 'preexisting' position
when you say you are a certain religion atheist v theist for instance it is a statement what position you stand for.
stop blaming a definition for the problems you create for yourselves by your own choices!

    For discussion, Point 1):
    For discussion, Point 2):
    For discussion, Point 3):
thread deletion crew is standing by, apparently because they do not understand what you wish to discuss.

My ability to understand what you want to discuss as listed above in the 3 points shown and others ability to understand what you want to discuss are 2 different things, so if you want your thread to survive you better write an essay on what you want to discuss or you will get a rule 11 violation and poof your thread will be vaporized into the void.
