Listening to a radio host or another, he mentioned something that for the first time ever made me go to a CDC site, to this particular page - sorry for not including any graphics here, but they're aplenty at the link:

    https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm

You're looking at the graph showing weekly US Chinese virus deaths from April 11th through July 11th (make sure and right-click anywhere on the graph and select "show as a table) to have both a graph and a table.

What do we see on the graph? At the pick of Chinese virus epidemy, in mid- April, a number of Chinese virus deaths were 15-20k per week, we all remember that time.

During the last week of reporting, July 11th, the total number of Chinese virus deaths in the US was under 500! in a whole week!

Do we hear about it in the news? I bet, most of you folks did not know how drastically the Chinese virus deaths have fallen; all we hear about the ever-rising number of positive cases bit not about the actual number of deaths. MSM will not tell you, its a wring narrative. The right narrative is to equate the number of new positive cases with the number of deaths. But here it is, on CDC's own site. Rejoice fellas, we almost have it beaten!

Now, of course, our Liberal friends will tell us see! see! Lockdown works! There's no satisfying them.
Thank you for the job well done, President Trump! You deserve to be reelected :applause:

But Trump said it was up to the governors to implement health decisions for their state - so by Trump's own admission, he has nothing to do with it. Trump is an empty suit on the Covid problem.

And now for the real story. Doctors are getting better at treating the patients, but we are seeing more kidney and lung long term problems for the survivors.
Trump and the governors have far less to do with fewer deaths than just good science in treatment.

So... Trump is responsible for Chinese virus proliferation and is not responsible for number of deaths coming sharply down... fully predictable and expected reaction from the Left.

But tell me - why is MSM not reporting this spirit-uplifting fact even though the data is readily available? A mystery, eh?

Agreed. The same stance I have towards the governors is the same stance towards Trump. Trump can't take credit for news when it's good, and then denounce his involvement if things get tough. This "take credit" crap on both sides has been atrocious.

Maybe the bigger issue isn't the lockdowns, but the authoritarian and undemocratic way they were instituted without so much as consulting the people. As I said, even if I disagree with our system of government for those who DO, they should abide by it at all times even with a novel coronavirus. A debate and a discussion is the hallmark for a healthy democratic society.

    From your link.

The provisional counts for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) deaths are based on a current flow of mortality data in the National Vital Statistics System. National provisional counts include deaths occurring within the 50 states and the District of Columbia that have been received and coded as of the date specified. It is important to note that it can take several weeks for death records to be submitted to National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), processed, coded, and tabulated. Therefore, the data shown on this page may be incomplete, and will likely not include all deaths that occurred during a given time period, especially for the more recent time periods. Death counts for earlier weeks are continually revised and may increase or decrease as new and updated death certificate data are received from the states by NCHS. COVID-19 death counts shown here may differ from other published sources, as data currently are lagged by an average of 1–2 weeks.

Why don't you find a current source. There are several good ones.

As of yesterday, the rolling 7 day average for deaths in the US is 748.7. And the rolling 7 day average for cases is still rising.

Is that what CDC is saying, or PMSNBC?

Center for Decease Control is the mother of all sources.

What are your sources... CNN? PMSNBC?

Not according to the NIH. That's why they are taking it away from CDC. To slow.
Of course they might just want to wash them down a little for Spanky.
You can use CDC if you like, but not for any data less than a month old.

One way or another, compared to tens of thousands of deaths in April, we have this Chinese virus beaten (figuratively speaking). Why are MSM not talking about the decreasing number of deaths, talking instead about increasing number of positively tested? You know the reason, don't you?

That is the Democrats narrative, lest some positive news help Trump to get reelected :buggered:

Another week has gone by, another 655 Americans have succumbed to the Chinese virus while the number of infected has grown to over 4mln.

    https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm

Not a nice narrative for the Democrats, that's why they sell only the number of infected and not the number of dead :D

It's no wonder Trump has lost control of it. He is using the same data you are.
Can't read the warning I guess.

Do you truly believe that only 655 Americans died last week?
