What can Trump do to lose his base?

He said that he could stand in the middle of the street, and shoot somebody, and he wouldn't lose a single vote from his base. And with all that has happened (losing the Obamacare showdown, lying about wiretapping, the Russian connection, his lies about the Russian connection,... even cutting programs that benefit his own base-voters), he hasn't lost that much among his base. They just don't care about these things.

But there is one thing that they care about. Anybody who saw his rallies during the campaign noticed when he said "We're gonna build a wall with Mexico" (big cheers).... then he would say "And Mexico is going to pay for it" (four times the cheers.)

They don't care about healthcare reform. They don't care about Russia. Not even about cutting programs that benefit his own base (like meals on wheels). Or his lies.... Trump's base doesn't really care that much about any of that.

It's all about hurting foreigners! That's why he has invested all his political capital on the Muslim ban. And that's also why he considered the roll-out of the original order a "success". Because, even though it was a mess, and it hurt a lot of innocent people who were travelling at that time, just about all of them were foreigners.. And that's what he has set out to achieve: hurting foreigners. That appears to be what his base expects of him. So he delivers.

 

Give it time.. They will hate him for his smug deception.

 

At this point I think he could stand up on a podium declare Russia helped him when the election, and in return is doing favors for them, and his base would still love him, and not understand why we are impeaching him. Why should I care about Russia? They never forced my hand to vote for Trump and I seriously doubt they are helping Trump out in any way right now. Wikileaks has nothing to do with Russia or Trump. It exposed Hillary for who she really was.

So Trump failed to shutdown Obamacare so what? It's not the end of the world. Should I go cry on my bed? Trump want's to stop illegal aliens and terrorists and that means he hates all foreigners? Seriously you need to do a lot better than this if you want to change my mind.

I do not care about the Russians. Russians are not hiding under my bed nor were they forcing anyone to vote for either candidate.

It appears as though the liberal left wants terrorists to come here and attack us every day so they can say Trump can't protect us. The travel ban did not include the vast majority of Muslim nations, only the ones who support terrorists or have no vetting procedures to weed out terrorists.

 

It would seem Some of Trumps supporters are peeling away which is making those not doing so upset with them in much the same way they were with Republicans who did not like him in the first place. This nastiness is the primary reason I left the party last year and is likely to create many more RINO's as they love to call us. In time even these hardcore TrumpHumpers will probably grow tired of trying to make up excuses for their leader and realize the damage he is doing TO THEM with his stupidity. There are only so many times you can dodge to HillBill or Obama for blame.
Likely once he is fingered for what he actually is by the FBI and others they will abandon his sinking ship but, the label they have earned will remain like a stench.

I left the democratic party years ago when I voted for Bush's second term for many reason but most of which was the party's immature and crybaby attitude. I no longer want to be associated with their vile hatred and outright lies they started spinning even back then. Today they have soared to new heights with their venom and hatred. When Obama won his first term you never heard anyone on the right go around saying he is not our president, they got over it and worked to get their party elected in the next elections anywhere they could. I have always said we need to abolish all political parties and just have the candidates run on their own standards and accomplishments without party help. Do away with all left, right, conservatives, democrats, liberal, socialist, independent and all the others, just run as an American.

That's a nicely stated treatise as to why you're not a Democrat and how you don't like parties, but it's not the thread question so I'll restate it. What can Trump do to lose his base? What would make you finally admit that he's about the worst President we've had? Peripherally to that, would you support his impeachment if strong evidence that he knowingly colluded with the Russians in hacking the 2016 election were found?

I never said Trump hated anyone. I do think he has some mood swings from being constantly attacked by the left and the news who refuse to give him a chance. That does not mean he hates anyone. I never proved the OP's point. The Democrats and the left had ten million people abandon them and they are more concerned about a few people leaving Trump.
