Republican In Name Only. For many decades I was a proud and devoted Republican. I voted Republican even when I did not like the candidate or had no idea who they were., usually full ticket. This was my pattern until the Trump Phenom began and the Party wandered into the ignorance field...then TrumpHumpers started calling me RINO to the point I got fed up and said to myself, "You want me gone...so be it". I am now registered as Independent and am happy I am not attached in any way to what these people have done to a once proud and effective political machine. I postulate that these people are the actual RINOs and will be even happier when they self destruct. Maybe in a couple decades we will get a Conservative party again.
If you were called RINO for not supporting Trump, it was probably just intended to disparage. Let's not pretend that Trump is some kinda run of the mill conservative Republican. A nationalist who's more conservative than not? Yes. When I think RINO, I think neo-con who's really not even socially conservative. They're kinda like Democrats from several decades ago.
