The dictionary and the FBI's definition of terrorism are markedly similar, and it's not "big killing" or "scary event."

I think clearing up the definition of the term will help confused people understand that there is no racial motivation by why some mass killings are called terrorism and not others.

    From Dictionary.com:

    Terrorism
The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property in order to coerce or intimidate a government or the civilian population in furtherance of political or social objectives.

    From the FBI:

Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85).

The FBI further describes terrorism as either domestic or international, depending on the origin, base, and objectives of the terrorist organization. For the purpose of this report, the FBI will use the following definitions:

    • Domestic terrorism is the unlawful use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual based and operating entirely within the United States or Puerto Rico without foreign direction committed against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in furtherance of political or social objectives.
    • International terrorism involves violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any state, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or any state. These acts appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion, or affect the conduct of a government by assassination or kidnapping. International terrorist acts occur outside the United States or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to coerce or intimidate, or the locale in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum.

I'd go with Enders and Sandler (2012): "Terrorism is the premeditated use or threat to use violence by individuals or subnational groups to obtain a political or social objective through the intimidation of a large audience beyond that of the immediate victims"

Not quite. It is specifically designed to enable economic analysis into terrorist preferences and costs from their activities.

    Tripe and bloviations,

Terrorism and it's ancillary effects, also disrupts the normal everyday routines of a population and causes them to need increased states of alert and heightened security, and slows the speed with which otherwise normal activity is conducted, example; Airport security and resulting security delays that possibly could result in missing a flight.

    Terrorism
The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property in order to coerce or intimidate a government or the civilian population in furtherance of political or social objectives.

    Is lying unlawful?

if I 'lie' against 'persons', 'properties', in order to coerce or intimidate 'a' government or the civilian population in furtherance of 'political' or 'social' objectives, is that to be considered a non forceful or non violent 'act'?

If I lied in the Court of Law, would that be considered 'peaceful' and 'agreeable'?

Are Judges lied to all the time in Court Rooms? Is there any way to disprove a 'lie'?

Is it a terroristic act if a person uses 'forceful' and/or 'aggressive' words towards those that are endangering other lives by being willfully unlawful?

Would using 'forceful' and/or violent, aggressive words to this person be a counter terroristic act?

Man arrested, accused of attacking woman, 2 kids with hammer

    COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) —

A man was beaten to death with a hammer Wednesday morning in the parking lot near a Southern California university, police said.

The man was found lying on his back in parking area near Vanguard University shortly before 9 a.m.

Witnesses called police after they saw someone attack a man sitting in a car and then again after he got out of the vehicle.

The presumed attacker ran off but was captured after being jolted with a stun gun, police said.

Authorities are trying to determine a motive for the attack and whether the men knew each other.

Does anyone know how to yell STOP!!! anymore????

You're meaning to tell me that you would rather see this than seeing young children's and young adult's emotions being hurt by them being told the truth???

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

#1 Question: Are these persons breaking ANY Road rules?? ANY???

Women ought NOT be involved in dealing with mens' unruly behavior.....

If they believe or think otherwise, let them give their opinions of why and how they can take a bar brawl into their own 'Public Protection' rights other than offering the men to become twice the son of Gehenna than they were before she offered assistance???

Do you assume that these 'bikers' have nice reputable socially upstanding women as their acquaintances and/or friends?

Is it a possibility that every 'feeling' of being 'tinged' comes from The Holy Spirit's Conviction to their 'sin'?

If you're NOT doing anything wrong, why should YOU have to worry about anything?

Besides, doesn't The Law want to help The Holy Spirit encourage the good and help the bad? Or have they also been 'convicted' to the point of self depression and self woes?

Do people still know how to fix a toilet if it's broken? Or clean their own dishes? Or vacuum their own rug? Or wash their own underwear??

Or is everything becoming partying and living in a bachelor pad environment at age 40 or so?

    Is that ALL U.S. CASH????

Why does The U.S. NOT Investigate Illegal Cash Distribution?

Is it because if they do, they stop getting fringe benefit kick backs?

Audit: Pentagon Cannot Account For $6.5 Trillion Dollars Is Taxpayer Money

Adding to the appearance of impropriety is the fact that thousands of documents that should be on file have been removed and disappeared without any reasonable explanation.

A new Department of Defense Inspector General’s report, released last week, has left Americans stunned at the jaw-dropping lack of accountability and oversight. The glaring report revealed the Pentagon couldn’t account for $6.5 trillion dollars worth of Army general fund transactions and data, according to a report by the Fiscal Times.

    http://www.mintpressnews.com/audit-...t-6-5-trillion-dollars-taxpayer-money/219246/

What this means is that The U.S. does not know where 6.5 Trillion dollars went or was spent on...

Okay, I guess, if you think definitional fiat is a good way to advance your position. It's not an argument, though, and the second bullet is quintessentially xenophobic.

    That Pablo Escobar's money.

There would be more but Pablo spent some of that money buying guns from Barack Obama during Obama's "Operation Furious."

    Terrorism is very broad.

    Adolf bombing London was terrorism.

The US bombing Hanoi was terrorism.

The A-bombs on Japan by the USA were the ultimate terrorism and they worked.

General William Tecumseh Sherman march to the sea was terrorism.

Welcome to modern warfare where civilians and cities become fair game.

I don't see any of the liberal Taliban in America tearing down statues of Gen. Sherman.

I would not call Sherman's scorched earth policy terrorism.

It may have inadvertently terrorized Southerners, but scorched earth has been around since the Scythians defeated the Persians in southern Russia in 530 BC.

Sherman had to cut the Rebel armies in two and draw Lee down out of Virginia.

Grant had already cut them in two once by capturing Vicksburg and Shiloh.

By the 18th Century Europeans had brought some civility to war with rules of war. Mostly using "Natural Law"/"Laws of Nature."

Armies stood on a battlefield a hundred or so yards apart, stood in formation and shot at each other.

The American Civil War was the first modern war ever fought. Indirect artillery support, logistics playing a very important part. Maneuver warfare on the battlefield. Baloons used for observation. Telegraphs being used for communications. Trench warfare. Iron clad ships, merchant raiders on the high seas, submarines. Gatling guns and going from muskets to rifles. And the reintroducing the scorch earth strategy.

To the civilian non combatants, when caught in the cross fire, war is a terrifying experience.

Could yelling 'STOP' get you into trouble? Maybe.. but is that trouble going to stop you from doing the right thing and from being righteous? Then you would have made yourself into their slave.

As far as a man hitting a female is concerned.. I don't know about that one.. There are some cultures where it is okay to hit a female.. and with so many cultures in The U.S., I wouldn't know if it was okay for them or not..

Just because the female looks as if she is from a culture that does not have female discipline within it does not mean she is.. I have heard of many 'white' Iranians.. I have no idea how their culture is but I wouldn't go to Iran to begin teaching them the rights and wrongs of living life.. when they have their culture and own relatives and friends to do so. If female discipline was morally wrong in that place and if it was out of hand and overly wide spread, I'm sure their Authorities will tend to it.

They have their lawyers, they have their police, they have their judges, they have their religious teachers, they have their Law keepers, they have their Law breakers...

They have their scholars which verify the truths in that place. They have their counselors. They have their cross referencers.. They have their own... Just like The U.S has theirs.

The problems might arise from this.. When different 'customs' are brought into their homes due to different languages being spoken outside of the home..

If a person should speak to a another person in the other person's language, the native will bring in a little bit of that other person's culture home with him/her. And when the spouse or family member is used to a 1 culture home, the other would now have confused that person with different variances of applications to a given situation. The sink being cleaned in a certain way, which has been done for years and years, all of a sudden has turned into an argument issue. This would be confusing.

The person cleaning the sink isn't doing anything different.. The person seeing it is seeing it different.

But for a swarm of persons to go out and 'terrorize' for the sake's of a few family households being argumentative all of a sudden? I don't know about that..

It might mean that they still might 'think' and 'believe' that 'devils', and not persons, are trying to take over..

The U.S.A. is seen as the 'Great Satan' and Israel is seen as the 'Little Satan' to some Arab Countries. And with such notions, all in The U.S.A. might be as 'devils' and all in Israel might be as the same.

So if The U.S.A and Israel takes out the 'satans' from within them, then they will not have no excuses nor justifications to be called such.. Either that or just stay out of their territory and stop giving them the hee-bee -jee-bees.

They have to protect their sanity too, right? Their leaders should be wise and knowledgeable enough to discuss cross international discussions in which they are involved with and in.

A small matter for some, might be a large matter for another.

Just as King David looked upon Bathsheba with desire, so also, might these men have done.

    2 Samuel 11:2-5
"And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 3And David sent and inquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? 4And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. 5And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child."

    According to Edward Abbey:

“Terrorism: deadly violence against humans and other living things, usually conducted by government against its own people.”
