There is something seriously wrong with life in Australia.
It wasnt that long ago that we were shocked and saddened when the body of a little baby girl was found on a Gold Coast beach.

And as our children grow older, they have to endure the bullying from their "mates"
    at school, or on line....
In Australia, and throughout the world, we see dangerous signs of social unrest. People are protesting in the streets in various countries throughout the world. We dont need to list those countries.
We in Australia seem to think we are insulated from the problems of the world, but we are not. People are frustrated at the system under which we live, and as we know, frustration creates aggression...and the children are those that suffer...
It seems obvious to me that people who succumb to this frustration simply cannot cope any more with their surroundings and become violent...
This violence is caused by a total lack of a support system.
It would appear also, that in some circumstances, men and women just cannot live together
in peace. This inability to live together in peace creates the frustration which then leads to violence. The gradual destruction of the family unit as we once knew it seems to be a place to start.....
We have to ask ourselves...what causes a family unit to be destroyed....
Well, thats the 64 dollar question...if we could answer that question, we might be able to
    start saving each other....

It's really hard to stay....it's much easier to walk away from a marriage than it is to stay.

I was married for 12 years, and the marriage was not perfect. But that marriage ended in the early 80s.
Thats 40 years ago. I think you would agree that times have changed a bit since then.
Lets talk about the circumstances of marriages in the year 2019, and why people cant live together in peace in the year 2019.

    OP

It isn't only Australia, it's the entire western world. I heard last night about the recently-revealed endemic bullying of nuns by priests in the catholic church - as if abuse and rape of children wasn't bizarre enough when perpetrated by those who live by 'Suffer, little children, to come unto me'. There's a madness abroad, and it's ominous.

    ok fine

I think you're generalising... not every Australian man is a woman basher and not all relationships end in violence... plenty of decent Aussie blokes around

ok so what circumstances... well Borderline males(Borderline Personality Disorder) are known to be "violent" in relationships... and borderline females are manipulative and likely to use kids during a divorce...

Well, that must be the answer we're looking for...borderline males and manipulative females...
...and they dont even have to live as a couple...just one will ruin a relationship...I wish I was as smart as you....I might even enter politics....

Lets see now....what have we got...
    Financial stress...mental illness...instability...borderline males...manipulative females...
What can we add to that which would cause a relationship/marriage to dissolve....
    I know....
How about a lack of brains to enter into the relationship in the first place...
Perhaps we could add women just looking for a meal ticket...
    What about ambivalent women...
    What about narcissistic women....
Deary me this list is just too long....

I could point out it is very easy to walk out of a marriage in this day and age. Thus the stress on why people marry is different and the reasons to make it work are different with less stress on consequences of walking out.

I noted just recently, a person in early 1900's applied for a liquor licence and was rejected due to the fact he was single, the reason given was lack of reputable evidence.
Times change and the people with less integritry make there presence felt.
