What no one has said that needs saying!

The Capitol Police did a stunning job protecting our legislators. No house member, no senator, none of there staffers, or the vice president came to harm. They were all protected for the entire 4 plus hours that the capitol building was occupied. Just an outstanding job by these very best of first responders and protectors. I don't care what your political stripe is, you have to admire and praise the job they did on 1/6.

 

I watched the evidence as it was being presented today and I can tell you this old ex-cop had tears running down his face for what those guys and gals went thru.

It's almost like they were treated as expendable considering the advance warning(s) from at least a week ahead. It's almost like the "maximum effect damage" was planned by those that are/were in charge of protecting the place.

 

Because trespassing is a dangerous crime.....lolz!

 

Something was definitely allowed in this — thecult.win was planning this for a few weeks with calls to capture and or kill with varying degrees of violence.

They knew. But hey, we were dealing with trump’s FBI and every department in the government acted in the direct opposition to the mandate of the department so what else should we have expected.

The liberals, like POS Pelousy, even rejected the idea of more boots on the ground that day.

They not only wanted this to happen they actively participated in "allowing" it to happen.

But I also want to point out it took courage for those 60-70 year old men and women in high heels and suits, who had been terrorized for over an hour, heard the chants, and then shattering windows and then yes the gunfire, knowing people had actually died, that pipe bombs had been discovered, come back that night and finish the job that these thugs had threated them over, not knowing who or what was out there, or what might happen to themselves or their families should they disappoint.

Trump wanted the vote delayed that night. Yet It was not some, or most who came back to defy him and the animals that very night, it was every single one.

Trump wanted Pence to 'stack the deck' for him. Pence came back and did the opposite.

Trump wanted more votes to object to the counts. He got far fewer. In the House before the insurrection it was 121-303. In the Senate voting afterwards it was 96-4

Physical Intimidation did not get him closer to his goal that night, It took him further away

They deserve credit for that.

 

My OP was intended as something as a testimonial of thanks and praise for the Capitol Police, something simple, non political, non partisan that we could all pretty much agree on and let it go at that.

The problem with cognitive dissonance is that it causes one to go further into the illusion when faced with irrefutable evidence. In fact, just pointing it out causes one to double down. Fact of the matter though, is your media regularly lies to you. That is why so many of you are convinced the election was stolen from the Trump. That is what they keep telling you. They also keep telling you all kinds of horrible things about everyone on the left. So when the Democrats, who aren’t anything like right wing media pretends they are, lay out the clear evidence of the criminality of the Trump and its most fervent followers, it makes it very difficult to accept what is clearly seen, does it not?

 

I agree. I was particularly impressed with the officer who got the mob to chase after him, who was acting as a decoy while other officers were escorting the legislators to safety in the opposite direction.

 

Totally Unrelated "Whataboutism" involving "Incidents in the Summer" that are of such a lesser magnitude (that they don't even belong on the same Planet as a Deadly Act of Domestic Terrorism, Incited by Trump).

And you’re right the Right and left are completely different. Republicans all condemned the capital attack. Democrats however call the Riots “mostly peaceful”. Guess what. The rally that day was completely peaceful, until it wasn’t for 4 hours. The riots and looting went on all summer and new riots have continued. Leftists controlled an area of Seattle and completely locked out cops, causing death, rape and destruction. Democrats sat and watched allowing it to happen for weeks. Yeah mostly peaceful. BLM activists executing cops all summer. Mostly peaceful. Burned federal buildings. Cop cars. Police stations. Mostly peaceful?

You can’t even comment on this subject because you can’t even admit it happened because how would you know??? You think black people get shot for just breathing when the data proves it to be a lie.
