My biggest gripe with that was the Deathclaws blocking the interstate in the middle of the map, forcing the player to go through Nipton to get to New Vegas. I'm level 24 now, and I still haven't explored the quarry or any location in the middle of the map, simply because Deathclaws are too damn difficult.

I actually like the fact that Deathclaws are hard to cool. I like the "oh (*)(*)(*)(*)" factor when you come across one but they shouldn't be so close to where the game starts off. That was a big part of what killed the game for me.

It's worth the money in my opinion but I understand that when you're skeptical about a game you don't really want to put out to much money for it.

    Streets of Rage Remake

I've given up trying to keep up with consoles, especially Sony who are releasing yet another expensive console with hardly any games (or at least hardly any I'd be interested in).

I spent a while in that quarry, slowly snipping away at them and running for my life. They are DEATHCLAWS after all=) They should be hard and the place was easily skippable if I recall. You shouldn't be able to to take them on that early. The first time I went there following the story, don't remember the level, I said screw it like anyone else, but I went back after a few levels and it was manageable. The fact that they kicked your a$$ is what opened the game up. Otherwise, why bother going back to that area later on. Smart move. Now if there were Deathclaws all over the highway right when you leave the starter town, THAT would be an error.

Currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Fun, but even on hard its waaaay too easy.

Just picked up Call of Duty Black Ops 2, first shooter I've ever played that I wanted to shoot everyone but the enemy! The story sucks so bad its almost impossible to finish, if the MP sucks as much that's the biggest waste of money I've seen since the federal government starting collecting taxes for our own good...

I actually still haven't started Solsthiem yet. I was so busy modding my game from Syrim.Nexus, and then I decided to start over using those mods, so it's like being in that dream where you are running, but you never get any closer. The Mod's I downloaded were

    Agents of Righteous Might
    Wyrmtooth
    Falskaar
    Moonpath to Elsewere
    Oblivion Gate Series

Some of them are large as DLC content, so it takes a while to get through them

    One day though...

You're lucky. I play it on the PS3, because my laptop can't handle it. Someday I'll have a computer capable of playing it.

As for mods, did you hear about this one, made by a 19 year old that adds 25 additional gameplay hours: http://technabob.com/blog/2013/07/26/skyrim-resume/

I love the Fallout Universe, except New Vegas couldn't draw me in like the other games, even Fallout Tactics was better. My gripe was that the factions weren't alluring at all. I wanted no part of any of them from the start. Plus the overall weakness of the BoS was so not cool... Only other thing was no Deathclaw Fist weapon, totally destroyed the Fallout 3 build I loved so much, pure melee was too much fun and had great VATS graphics. The junk from New Vegas was just not up to par...

There's just something about New Vegas that makes me prefer it to 3. I think it's the presence of civilization. The wasteland in 3 just felt too dead to me, even though that was the point.

Did you play the first two? I was so happy when 3 came out, it probably could have been crap and I'd have loved it, because that universe of games already had me entranced... :)

Sadly, I've never played any of the Fallout games before 3. I know they're very cheap on Steam. It might be time for me to pick them up.

I picked up Battlefid 3 over the summer Steam sale. Have t played one of these since MW2. These corridors shooters just are t as much as they used to be. The set pieces are cool but its just so unfulfilling.

I had the opposite reaction. The only thing I preferred in Fallout 3 was the actual gameworld itself which was better for exploring. I preferred Fallout NVs faction relation system and the disguises are actually kind of fun to use especially in combonation with C4/detonators and land mines. :omfg: The quests overall were better although Fallout 3 wasn't bad by any means. DT is a big deal for me since it made little guns useless against good armor and allowed for expanded ammuniton like ammo piercing rounds.......as it should be. Also the DLC in FNV blows FO3s DLC out of the water. The Pitt was the only good one for FO3 and even that one is small compared to FNVs DLC. My big negative with FNV was that Caezer's Legion was a complete joke. I much preferred the Enclave as an enemy.

Clearly you did not use the Saturnite Fist which is the ultimate fist weapon. :deadhorse:

I still play FNV although I am trying to get Tale of Two Wastelands to work so that I can play both FO3 and FNV on the same character at the same time and have the best of both worlds.

I am somewhat bored with Skyrim. I still have it and all the mods for it but I haven't touched it in months. I figure at some point I will just uninstall it and get my 40 GB of space back. It seems like they take stupid pills when they make the TES games. Skyrim is very pretty but it is probably one of the shallowest games I have played recently. Its leagues better than Oblivion of course but compared to other similar fantasy RPGs like the Witcher it just falls flat. What's really weird is that they make Oblivion which sucked adn then FO3 which was an awesome game with good writing and interesting quests and then they made Skyrim which is once again shallow and uninteresting.

Waiting for MISERY for STALKER CoP which comes out in a couple of days.

    Metro Last Light

    Fleet Ops

    The Secret World

Deus Ex HR ........yet again. :)

    Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines......also yet again.

I'm not sure what it was precisely, but I couldn't really get into New Vegas. I got almost to the end and finally just stopped playing. Maybe it was the lack of connection to the vaults, the previous games all had a strong tie to vaults. New Vegas just seemed like they toss you out there with little regard to the basis of the universe. Oh well, I'll agree to disagree on the virtues and faults of the series...

I loved Skyrim, but yeah after while it gets to be too much, but that's almost always the same with open world, you spend so much time exploring and having fun but never quite see it all and feel like its almost a job to keep going after you finish the best parts of the story.

Yeah, TES games changed too much with Oblivion, sadly you had to go through the gates to get anywhere later in the game but really you could play for days and days and ignore that aspect and have tons of fun... They could have had a great game by leaving the Daedra out and just expanding the the Dark Brotherhood quest line, and all the other guilds and groups...

I'm waiting for Total War Rome II, and the next gen of consoles. I will buy a new computer for that one! I've had Total War Shogun 2 for a while now and saw exactly how long I played, its an insane number of hours, but yeah, new comp for Rome II will actually be worth it for me! Problem for me is trying to keep up with PC gaming in regards to system reqs... I went consoles because they last years on each generation, where PC was a constant struggle to keep up. Next gen consoles appear to have some awesome content coming. I'll truly be happy when they all sync up in terms of performance and can link up, that will revolutionize gaming...

Not sure what you mean by PC trying to keep up with consoles. I built a PC for someone that was more powerful that the 360 the same year it came out. PC tech outstripped consoles within months of launch and my current PC is literally at least 10x more powerful than the consoles and it is three years old now the only thing I updated was the graphics card a year ago and I really didn't need to......i just like having the biggest toy on the bloc. :nana: I don't even plan on building another one till SSDs are more reliable which is probably another year or so. In fact the next gen of consoles are based on graphics cards that are two years old now and my current PC is still more powerful than them. You only get so much for $400. The only console I am looking to buy is the PS4. After what XBONER pulled with their online and no used games they won't ever get my business.

I didn't play Total Rome although I did play the Medieval War games which were fun.
