    If you read the quotes of the people that created the document, it is their opinion too.
    They repeatedly refer to unalienable rights.

    Where is the pursuit of happiness in the bill of rights? I thought that was the list?

    You’re moving away from the point that the Bill Of Rights was penned to protect existing rights, not grant them.
    The entire document restricts government, it doesn’t grant rights.

    why should he comply with that demand from you? he's right. lots of anti gun posters think that the government can do whatever it wants. a government can only act in the areas in which it was delegated powers. the federal government was never properly delegated any power to restrict the privately owned arms of private citizens. thus the second amendment is a negative restriction that recognizes a lack of power by the government it restrains

    But where are the restrictions on government that guarantee the pursuit of happiness?

    That sounded like advocating elimination of personal defense firearms, those firearms belonging to people not members of the Militia, the Elderly, the Infirm, Anyone not able to serve in the Militia.

    I would say we need to do something about it. If it is household accidents, I'd say promote a media information campaign to help people understand the dangers in the home. If it is about road accidents, I'd say review how we can improve road safety. If it is about gun deaths, I'd say stricter gun control and elminate military style weapons from the possession of private citizens.

    And then after they go after the smokers...who will be next? Boozers?
    If people want to smoke..that's their business. Try banning outdoor barbque vendors. And perfume. Ever run against a woman smothered in that crap where you gag from your eyes watering? Oh, and candles. And incense. Who wants to inhale that stuff?

    The list was borrowed from John Locke from a publication in the 1680’s, called I believe, the Second Treatise of Government, if memory serves.

    One little difference, if someone is smoking next to you, you absorb much second hand smoke,
    You do not absorb alcohol by standing next to a drinker.

    I think the second hand smoke thing is a bunch of malarky. But, that's just my opinion.

    I think I would rather stand next to a smoker than be doomed working with a woman drenched in strong perfume.

    ¤© Contradictory to expert Medical research that has proved beyond any doubt that second hand smoke kills.

    Also, personal clinical obervations and clinical evidence, I observed of non smokers, patients that had symptoms and altered vital signs and pulmonary effects and pathology secondary to inhaling second hand smoke, including a lady I knew since I was 7 years old, that died many years later, from cancer, her husband had been a chain smoker and was already deceased.

    Even the family dog died of cancer, I actually felt the first tumor while petting the dog one day.

    So sure, second hand smoke is a farce, it must be, since you opine so.....

    So you know and stated what the 2nd amendment says shall not be done. I'm sorry, I must have missed that. Can you tell me again what the 2nd amendment says shall not be done? As you've already thought this through, it should be an easy matter to simply restate.
