...when state governments continue to enforce lockdowns all through the month? He's already losing his **** and it's only the 9th. I predict calls for open defiance by the 20th.

He has a point, of course. Tens of millions of families are in economic freefall right now. Maybe the fiscal parachutes work. Probably not. We've never tried them before.

 

We weren't asked to commit massive financial suicide so that we can avoid a hospital overload. I mean, apart from the Soviet Union transformation, this is a case where we threw out the baby so we could have a little more bathwater.

 

We went along with it. I don't think these governors are going to lose their jobs over shutting down their states. We lost 1,900 people on Tuesday. Can you imagine what that number would have been had we not shut everything down? Do you want to lose 30,000 people this month or 300,000?
