I've been fighting with these problems for years now. I cannot seem to get an answer from anybody....not one that is useful for my purposes anyway. And yes, I've done research, I've contacted anybody and everybody (private/consumer/government) that I could find online to ask these questions to, and nobody claims to have any answers, or refuses to answer. More often than not, I rarely get a response of any kind.

(I will try to keep these as short as possible)

    Problem/Question 1--
I literally work in a toxic environment at my desk job in a healthcare billing office. I have severe allergies to artificial chemicals used in scented products. Management asked for a letter from my doctor to state I was under the care of a doctor for severe allergies, and they got it. They have done nothing since, but move me around from cubicle to cubicle, never doing anything about the sociopaths that come to work soaked in noxious, toxic, odious chemical scented products. OSHA says I need to contact EEOC. EEOC says I need to contact OSHA. The state governors office says I need to contact Washington DC. DC says I need to contact my state.........round and round she goes.........lawyers I've contacted have never responded to me. The ADA states I have a medical condition that is deemed "disabling", but nobody will do anything. Where to do you go to get help when NOBODY will help you?

    Problem/Question 2--
There are EXTREME violent, dangerous, and psychotic lunatic drivers that never stop at the stop signs on the street I live on. I've lost count of the times that I've almost died from these murderous psychos trying to ram my vehicle off the road or into a tree or something.
I also live at the end of a cul-de-sac, which the apartments only has ONE entrance/exit to.
There is also a RED fire lane on each side of the road going into the entrance/exit of the apartments and explicitly is marked "NO PARKING FIRE LANE". And yet these lunatics around here speed in and out, and park IN the entrance/exit of the apartments IN the fire lanes! They block traffic, they create deadly hazards for people trying to get in or out, and they just leave their vehicles there and walk off! The police have been called thousands of times, literally. I've written letters to the Mayor, the Police Chief, the Fire Marshall, and the Governor. The only one that responded was the Fire Marshall, who said it is illegal for ANY vehicle to park in a red fire lane for ANY amount of time, unless its an emergency or law vehicle.....which NONE of these are! All of these violent, law breaking criminals getting away with attempted murder and other acts of violence and aggression....and the police do absolutely nothing. Are there any private or social organizations out there who are against police corruption and can help with this? I would really love for a camera to be set up out there recording all of this, but I just don't have the money or time, since I work 6 days a week just to pay rent.

I have more, but I guess this is a good start to see what comes of it.

My wife also works in an office setting with cubicles. Her company got sued over this by an employee some time ago. Now, they simply don't allow it. It is office policy that workers will not wear perfumes and colognes and other smelly stuff.

So rather than just complain to your employer, I would suggest that you ask for an office policy to be put into place and that it be enforced. Make your request in writing. If your employer doesn't respond or they don't do it, don't just "contact" a lawyer, make an appointment with one. Sometimes a letter from a lawyer gets an employer to act, and that is much quicker and less expensive than a lawsuit. A lawsuit can be your option of last resort. Your employer can easily solve this problem and at no expense to them, so it should be a no-brainer.

Well yeah, but if office skills are your forte that will generally be a tough transition -- especially if you believe government and its alphabet agencies should solve your difficulties in daily life. You have to acquire an independent streak and mindset in the country. You can start out making a scant living mucking out horse barns and tending to horses but have to love calloused, dirty hands. Then as you learn the lay of land you can move up to better things. Work for a veterinarian, work for a tree service. If you're a good hand you'll keep moving up. Farrier is a good trade with opportunities for self-employment. The motto out here is keep working hard, and you'll have time to rest when you die.

I think that it goes both ways however. I truly doubt that I could survive for long in a city -- like the old song says, I done brought you to the big city and the bright lights knocked you out.

I suggest you work from home or wear a respirator instead making everybody around you miserable with your demands. I bet everybody at work hates you because you're "that person." Don't be so *******n selfish and whiny. The world does't revolve around you.

Are the drivers that bad, or are you being "that person" again? I don't know, but it's probably the latter.

If anything can be expected to intensify an allergic reaction, it's resentment of the people or circumstances you deem responsible for your symptoms.

What does that even mean? Sounds like political rhetoric.

Besides, I told them BEFORE I accepted the job, that I was allergic and I could not work around such people. I was promised that they had NO problems with that there, which turned out to be lies.

Given that I'm unaware of any flaws in diction or syntax, I'm at a loss to understand the question.
As far as you had to reach to achieve such a misperception, I cannot help but suspect you would rather not know "what that even means".
Maybe you can get "them" to act in a manner acceptable to you and maybe you can't, but in neither case will your internal overreactions to unpleasant circumstances serve you well.

Check it out it may not be as expensive as you think. Right now would be a good time to go, interest rates are down. Probably a buyers market in some areas.

It it not the worlds responsibility to use soap and perfumes and deodorants that accommodate your needs.

People drive like that everywhere and it's never going to change.

There is exactly one person in the world who thinks your problems should be a priority. I'll give you one guess who that is.

Just being honest here, it sounds to me like you need to live in a different kind of community. One where people put less chemicals on their body, where there is less traffic and where rent is cheaper.

not sure about medical coding and billing, but health information management pay's a lot of money.

the ones in management get the offices instead of cubicles, so maybe advancing the degree would help if nothing else works.
