Yes. Dismantle the whole system. Write a new Constitution that includes all citizens.

I'm saying Black men spend more time behind bars for committing the same crimes White men commit.

Then why isn't it expressed in their music?

The system is much larger than the Constitution.

Do you think rap music is that influential in the African-American community? Is heavy metal music influential in the White community?

From my experience I would say that the more interaction a White person has with Black people the more bias.

True. But, that is where the law starts.

In that case, Te'Nehisi Coates should be just fine. :)

I would assume so. Surely rap is more popular than other Black musical forms such as jazz.

DiAngelo argues that it is socialization that generates racism, much deeper and more fundamental than law.

Why do they find issues with employment? Laws say they cannot be discriminated against, so what is it? I've heard some refer to the employment equivalent of a 'food desert'. Why would that exist? (Rhetorical).

Black community issues aren't something people who are 'other' can truly deal with because they haven't been there. The beginnings, at least, have to come from within. While there are some who are trying to help matters within the Black community, there are more who don't want it to succeed, because it feeds an element of 'need', which has been promised them for centuries... by 'Old White Men'.

Yes, there are racists (of many colors). Each race has it's struggles, but to blame one race for the struggles of another, leaves the question: what are the individuals doing about it?

Unfortunately, children born to single mothers have the hardest journey. And no one can stop it, if the people involved will not do something about it. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/77-black-births-to-single-moms-49-for-hispanic-immigrants

People innately fear the unknown. Most people I know who interact with Black people (or any race besides what they are) humanize people - they see the struggles of life, the issues they face as a human. Unless they already have preconceived notions so heavily ingrained, they have less bias once the have regular interaction.

Your assumption would be wrong. Nobody I know is influenced by rap music. My grandson listens to country music!

And how many of those cases were adjudicated on the basis of multiple offenses within one occasion, and taking into account previous criminal records? After conviction those records are now taken into consideration.

I suspect that recidivism is about the same for lower-income whites as it is for blacks. Multiple offenses and prior history are ALWAYS a factor.

I must go run a few errands. Maybe I'll be back later. In the meantime:
Practice social distancing. Wear a mask when out in public. Wash your hands frequently.
Have a nice day and thanks for the conversation. ;)

LOL... what "white privilege"? When the poor white folk are just as disadvantaged as the poor minority folks, where is their privilege? More, we structurally induce incentivization for minority advantage throughout the society in this country. What privilege do non minorities get there? I'd say none.

About structural racism. or systematic racism. Show one that you believe in. I've produce systematic racial preference in the initial example. Where are yours? You suggest that this is something you would dismantle. Are you sure? I doubt it.

I'm afraid I don't know of the whites only places. go to the whites-only rights I have been either misinformed or they don't exist.

Not sure about this particular conspiracy theory. Basically whites are reptilians? And since they secretly rule the world from behind closed doors they are fragile?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

    Just looks like woke Nazism.

I have no idea about why you would think it’s about white only places, though they do tend to exist as well.

Well a privilege means something you are allowed to do that others aren't.

You would have to show me something white people are allowed to do that others are not.

If you can't your claim if white privilege is false. And that undermines your entire premise.

It really has to do with the meanings of the words you are using.

Good! Let them keep pissing off white folks. Sooner or later, the people dumb enough to have "white guilt" will be like "SCREW THIS!". Whites are also the majority in the USA and have been very nice with all the new trash talk about them nonstop. Go ahead! Bring them to the tipping point! I really wanna see what happens.

Privilege means all else being equal one person will have an advantage that another person wouldn't have because of some characteristic about that person. Class is a good go to example for this. A poor person will lack opportunities a rich person has because of a lack of wealth. In terms of race? White people have heroes they can look up to. Being white is considered good and it's reflected in pop culture. I don't have to change the color of my skin or present a certain way for society to treat me as if I was on top.
