I think the issue could be better served if we dispensed with the "illegal" moniker. In the first place, a person in America is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of their peers.
There have always been plenty of illegal white immigrants in NYC from Ireland, Israel, and Russia. Many of those from the latter two countries are here to escape the military draft. All three countries have produced their own brand of ethnic Mafia which spread drugs and violence in NYC. Yet, we NEVER see any objection from right wingers like the arrogant and hate filled Trump or any of his supporters. Double standards, much???

I have pointed out that close to half our illegal immigrants entered legally and fell out of status. What more acknowledgement do you want?
Why would that be? In both instances, the law treats both with with the same consequence: deportation.
I tend to think that undocumented Hispanic migrants can get away with it because the majority of them do look white and can stay under the radar, too. An illegal immigrant from China would be immediately arrested and deported to China. I hope the Trump administration will make an effort to level the playing field by enforcing immigration laws regardless of how they look.
Warning, this post contains HOT SUBJECT MATTER! There is a long history of Irish, Italian, and German immigrants illegally coming to and settling inn these United States of [North} America. The slang and pejorative term of WOP has its foundation in this fact. Back I the early part of last century, the term was used against Italians because of their undocumented status. WOP means With Out Papers, meaning without legal status to be in or live in these United States of [North] America. As to the Irish, the first Irish immigrants who came to this country were Protestant, not Catholic, this existed because Catholics where literally unwanted within the United States f [North] America. With the current batch of illegals is no coincidence. Knowing the history of people who are affiliated with the Catholic religion, why would it be a surprise? This fact along with other factors causes me to laugh at people who panic and spread the myth of the spread of Sharia Law, which will never happen, when some of the people from the religion identified as RCC have a long history of usurpation and disregarding the immigration laws of this nation, yet some remain silent or ignore this reality. In my opinion, it is no coincidence that the current batch gains their employment through and from their fellow co-religionists. They knowingly aid and abet known illegal occupants, especially here in New York, though I am aware of similar occurrences in other states. With them, the American socio-political reality has changed and it has not been for the good. Before June 26, 1870, the holiday of Christmas was literally outlawed in this nation. What is next is Cinco de Mayo going to become a national holiday or observance? Those of you who down-play the impact of excessive settlements, obviously either intentionally ignore history or you do not know it.
