By the 1960s, there was a black lead revolution in music. The sports world was having a revolution as well. Black people were making huge strides in civil rights punishing business interests that had failed to treat them fairly. Etc. By 1968, entry level wages were higher than they have ever been. While I don't doubt that, initially, some of the "war on poverty" appeared to be having a positive impact in the long term? You think it unrelated to the social disenfranchisement of men? Crime rates? Was it a good thing to stop having public schools from which you could become a licensed trades person?

 

So you can't handle reality.

 

Because white people don't fear the police as a rule. They aren't living day to day wondering if a cop will stop them, harass them, arrest them or even kill them just for being white. If you're a cracker and you're walking through a black neighborhood how do you feel? Are you watching everyone waiting for someone to pounce on you? That's how blacks feel around cops.

A few weeks ago a black actor from SNL, Jay Pharoah, was jogging in LA. A cop pulled up and shouted at him but he was wearing sound blocking headphones and he was looking behind him to see who the cop was shouting at. When 3 more cops showed up with guns drawn he came to the realization that they were pointing their guns at him. On the ground and cuffed one of the cops put a knee on his neck and Pharoah was telling them to google him so they'd know they had the wrong guy.

This is their daily reality. Would you accept it as yours? For as long as they have?

 

Your opinion, my friend, is not fact. Where are your proofs, your citations. Your 1968 comment is correct because of the 'war on poverty'.

The War on Poverty did not do this.

1968 also predates the implementation of the immigration and naturalization Act of 1965 which flooded the labor market causing entry level wages to drop. I don't know if those wages, adjusted for inflation, ever got back to where they had been in 1968. I read that Trump's policies had caused real growth in wages in the black community. Did they ever get back to 1968 levels?

 

Damn, I wish someone had told me decades ago that I was full of white privilege, I wouldn't have started working cutting grass at age 12 and busting my ass for the next 5 decades to make a living. Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid me.

Poor whites in the south may have been as poor as blacks but it was illegal to lynch THEM for no reason except for fun on a Saturday night...THAT is what is meant by "white privilege".

Two white guys stopped a black man to inquire what he was doing in a neighborhood after they witnessed him on a construction site he didn't belong on. An altercation broke out and the black man got killed. So, now the white guys are going to be tried for murder. It left a commie running for U.S. Senate to make a commercial that cops could kill a black man and nothing was done about it. Well, one guy used to be a cop; the other never had been. So it was not the cops. The fact that both of them will be tried for murder makes a lie out of the left wingers commercial, but this topic is never going to be an honest exchange of words, just crap to justify the genocide against whites.
