And yet, right wingers on this forum often continue to pretend such things never happen in the USA. That, on the contrary, it is whites who suffer discrimination and are under some imaginary siege.

It's not just a legacy of slavery. People of color who aren't of African descent are also treated this way. My wife is a dark skinned Asian and I've been with her when incidents like these have happened to her.

 

Exactly what do want of me? I think what happened to him, based on the evidence presented, was wrong. There isn't much you can do in this situation to prevent it that was already done. The gaurd was fired for his actions.

First off, that's only true to an extent. If humans did 100% of what the cops allow them to do 100% of the time then we wouldn't have any crime to speak of. Secondly, police don't control our culture. As long as we obey the law, we can do pretty much anything. In fact, our culture is increasingly getting more hostile with police. As with almost anything in government, police react to trends, they don't, for the most part, create them.

as a white person, as a teen I was asked to leave a hotel too... they do not tend to like people hanging out there looking suspicious.. it happens.. I was just cold and wanted to warm up a bit before I continued on to my destination, how dare them think I was a suspicious teen and ask me to leave

I have also been denied the use of a bathroom at a gas station without purchasing anything, crazy, tried to show them my white privilege card but they still refused, seriously, some people are just rude and mean, just cause one is black, doesn't mean it's cause they are black

There is no question that this does happen occasionally to white teens especially if they are male. By contrast, white female teens hang out at shopping malls and rarely if ever stopped by cops or security guards. It turns out, however, that black teens are stopped FAR more often than whites. This includes black girls at shopping malls. And by the way, as a Hispanic, I have been stopped by security guards or cops as well. And I'm well into my 60s! Can you imagine these d^ckheads somehow thinking that I'm there to rob the friggin' place - at my go.d.d@mn age??? Have you ever seen an older white woman stopped by security guards at hotel lobbies or shopping malls or asked to produce ID when shopping with a credit card? I never have.

Notice how on that video whites walked by and nobody stopped them. And just today I saw a discussion of this matter on TV. A black journalist wearing a suit and tie was stopped by security guards. Two white women who were walking by noticed the guard and said "if you are stopping him, why didn't you stop us?"

Whether anyone likes it or not, yes, racial considerations are the reason for this. Nothing else.

 

Walmart is being sued by Essie Grundy for discrimination after the retailer allegedly placed African-American hair products inside a locked case, while similar products marketed to non-black folks were easily available.

Why was this done.

Because the products are being stolen.

Over the years, I have noticed that whenever I, as a Hispanic, am in the company of white pals I don't get stopped by guards or cops. Those creeps may eye me more carefully than others but they don't dare approach me when accompanied by whites. Also, in the past when in a restaurant, the service was a lot better when with whites as compared to when alone or with blacks or other Hispanics. Like it or not, that's just the way things always were.
