What do lock downs do? They force people to rely more heavily on government, they kill small businesses, local stores, mom and pop restaurants and theaters.

Who benefits? Large corporations like Amazon replaces your local hardware store, electronics store, shoe store, clothing store and on and on. YouTube and Netflix replaces your theaters. Fast food restaurants chains replace mom & pop restaurants, etc....

Are some people in government using COVID as a way to destroy small business? If so, why? The tools running New York state and NYC seem to be thrilled that local businesses are going bankrupt.

And yet... where are the riots? It's your side that hates, your side which is filled with the lunatics and thugs. We saw it during 2016, we saw it all summer, and we see it today. You should stop trying to project yourself onto others.

Here we go with the leftist denials. As if Marxists like the middle class, and upper middle class.

I'm sorry, but I am sick and tired of responding to folks whose ONLY damn reality is through the picture painted for them by other more right-wing whackos. It's all about the "us vs them" bullshit Trump feeds from the White House. Gawd, I think they may need to burn the White House down just to disinfect it from the filth of this baffoon.

You're not going to convince any new converts over to your side. Your side LOST. Trumpism is rejected. It is a complete waste of time going through the laundry list and 'what aboutisms'. I'm done with it, and I think it fair to say, 78 million Americans agree with me.

No one doubts the science it's the politics we don't trust. A quarter million dead but millions more morons that don't question those numbers or the motives of those who demand these lockdowns. If there's really a surge who's responsible if all of us hapless sheep are staying home and wearing our masks???? Do you really think it's the average joe who is creating the surge, if there is one???? Do you think this pandemic was an accident, unintentional??? The virus is real enough but you've got to question the game. I'll tell you what is more frightening, there are people in our government, in China and Russia who have studied the probable outcomes of a global nuclear war and have concluded that it is survivable for some fraction of the world population. Who do you suppose that would be?

The most profound hatred you will see on these forums is the hatred Trumpers have for people deemed 'weak'. Those vulnerable to COVID are utterly disposable. They can die in their hundreds of thousands & Trumpers still whine about their personal convenience and point blank refuse to take responsibility for the impact of their actions on others. Reducing the vulnerable to the level of 'unpeople' is the ultimate hatred, and we see it here daily. Their deaths are ignored & even denied. Measures to make them safer are attacked.

You can whine about 'the left' all you want, the monument to right wing hatred of their fellow Americans will be the 2020 COVID death toll.

Biden can't undo the damage Trump has done. Trump has golfed while America burned and his followers cheered. No doubt you & the rest of the cult will blame Biden for the ashes.

If you want to blame someone for the unknown number of American deaths due to Covid-19, blame the regime that launched the project in 2014 that funded Wuhan through Eco Health Alliance. I doubt Beijing Biden or Obama revealed to Trump during the 2016 transition that they were laundering $3.7M in taxpayer money to Wuhan to develop a magical virus:

Not sure exactly what you're writing about there. Lots of medical staff have been laid off or let go because hospitals couldn't mostly handle essential medical care other than covid. Hospitals are losing money at this point.

And about roughy the same number of folks don't agree with you. And it is interesting the level of rhetorical hat you seem to bring with you. Why is it always burning things down with you people? Why is anyone who might not be willing to hand over their liberty to government called a whacko by you? It is pretty stark when you compare the comments of others to yours. And lets be honest, aren't these really the traits any bully uses? Shouting down, threats of violence. yeah. I think that about covers you.

Trying to not overload the system.
Keeping the workers as safe as possible.
Not overloading the workers hours, which many have been and for 9 months now. And we still have a good 6 months of high cases, IMO.

I agree about the six months. I don't agree that makes sense to add economic pain to the hysteria pain.

Which entirely ignores the point, doesn't it? You don't seem to care that hospitals are also suffering from the shut downs, and that their former employees are suffering as well. And you seem entirely willing to let that continue into the long term. The irony...

I am not for nationwide mandatory lockdowns.
Not a fan of any lock downs but scaling back is not a bad idea. Limits in establishments.

The lock downs simply don't work anywhere. What really works is distancing. Staying away from crowds of people. The rest of it mostly hopes and placebo. When enough people are vaccinated the virus will lose the war.
