In times of crisis leaders emerge to help people through the troubled times. Sometimes these leaders are actual leaders, political or otherwise. Sometimes these leaders are people in our community. Sometimes these people are just your neighbors who are checking up on you because they haven't seen you get your mail lately and are worried about you. And sometimes it's not a leader, but just a small act of kindness someone gave you, and with it you found the strength to return the favor in kind. We have these kinds of leaders, even if we wouldn't call them that normally.

For me? My baby nephew is learning how to spell my name and call me on the phone. That got me through the day. My advisor inspires me to do better because I know she believes in me and knows I will put in the effort. My friends organize weekly meetings where we can all talk. In terms of political leaders I'm inspired by a town councilor who I know does great work.

Who do you look up to in these trying times?
