It seems the Democrats are more
responsible for the stagnancy of the Federals.

    What do you believe?

    Consider
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/democrats-boycott-meeting-trump-white-173303722.html
Democrats boycott meeting with Trump at White House to negotiate government shutdown

I mean, really, what is the harm in talking?
Keep the News people shut out to stop cheap shots & point scoring
and see what happens. The Democrats refuse to discuss.

Currently it seems the Democrats are the most resistant creating the continuing Federal's stagnancy although it is more likely persons effected by the shutdown, vote for Democrats.

    Go figure.

Both, Trump for not budging and the Dems for not even trying to offer something for his wall.

Seems like a no-brainer. You have the Executive branch of the government sitting in his office waiting for some legislation to be put on his desk. You have one part of the legislation getting out of town so they don't have to negotiate. Meanwhile 800,000 Federal employees are on vacation (days off with pay). They may have to wait but I'm sure most have means to get a second job, have saved for the event, spouses who work or family to help out.

Of course, the House already sent the Senate a bill weeks ago, but that gets lost in all the noise ... both parties are dysfunctional, but it's the job
of the "Negotiator in Chief" to help hammer out a deal.

I guess the "Buck stops Here" was a slogan for more responsible times ... not the Trump era. This is the era of five-year olds pointing fingers saying, "he did it!"...

That House bill expired when the Democrats took control of the House. Do you know if you collected $100 from every person living in the USA you could fund the whole $25 billion. Really a cheap price for border security. Hell, if they had a way to donate the money just for that purpose without the money going into the general fund I would pony up $100 now.

I agree totally. All we're doing is wasting time and money.

Trump is to blame. He admitted it himself, though he backtracked once he realized what the optics would be. Dems and Republicans alike aligned almost unanimously. Then Trump announced at the last minute he wouldn't sign if he doesn't get funding for his vanity project, even though he hasn't even spent the money they've already given him for border security. Yes, Dems are mostly opposing the "wall" (200 hundred miles or so of fence, not what Trump promised) for symbolic reasons, but Trump is the one who introduced it as a sticking point. They're willing to offer more money for border security. He has funding he hasn't spent yet, this isn't the wall he promised, Dems are willing to negotiate on other border security expenditures, if he wants it he can get Mexico to pay for it like he promised, and he's holding out purely for political reasons that he won't really negotiate over. I won't say that all of the blame is on him, but yeah, most of it is.

Wouldn't pay a dime for the wall because it is a waste. Drones can fly over with drugs. Tunnels will be built within weeks. Boats will be used more often. It's just re-routing traffic. It's a fools paradise to think it will add any security.

Please enlighten me how technology is a better deterrent against illegal immigration than a wall?
