Okay, I want everyone to take note of the title, NOT asking who they'd LIKE to see, I'm sure many Trump supporters would love Hilary to have another bash but who would be their best candidate with a chance of winning?

For me, Beto O'Rourke stands head and shoulders above everyone else, his male whiteness may count against him in the current climate but he's a moderate, he's untainted, he's young and charismatic enough to give the GOP some serious competition in Texas, that reddest of states where they have a Chris Kyle day.

    The others?

Warren, too old, too left wing. Hilary mark 2.

Biden, too old, too establishment, what Trump supporters were voting against.

Booker, I'd have said yes before his 'Spartacus moment' which reduced him to a laughing stock. Also tainted by his part in the Kavanaugh circus which people will not forget.

Sanders, too old, too left wing, if he'd actually gone up against Trump it would have put Nixon's landslide in the shade.

:roflol: dems be like, his Male Jewness may count against him because Democrats are extremely racist and sexist.... oh... I mean male whiteness... ya... that makes our racist sexist bigotry ok...

I hope they run Beto. A is all for illegal immigration and wants to tear down the walls and fences we have. He says we need new slaves to pick cotton.

    Oprah Winfrey.

Beto is nothing, he couldn't even win for senator.

Hillary Clinton. The Dems begged us to run Donald and we did and we won. Knock the crust off and run her again.

Michele Obama would win in a landslide victory not seen in this country in generations. I would not vote for her but she could not be stopped.

I don't know what his chances would be in the race, but he'd be a monumentally better President than Trump... or Clinton.

It's a good question--and an interesting one. But, it's a bit early to be asking for a final opinion. Each candidate has strengths & weaknesses, but most are unknowns to those of us being asked to decide. Let's give them all a chance to make themselves known to us. Then ask the question.

Michele Obama is one of the most incredible individuals and Americans I've ever seen. Her vision of America is the most comprehensive, complete & compassionate I've ever heard. She's precisely the kind of American I strive to be or become. She'd make a historically great President, and I'd vote for her in a second.

I'd say based on the Democrat base Beto O'Rourke is the best bet. He's exciting he's young he's ambitious. They might want to save him for 2024 it's not going to be easy to remove the encumbent

I think she's great but surely Trump's election was a deliberate rebuff of the Obama legacy?

Michelle Obama hands down. I obviously disagree with her politics but she is by far the best the Dems have to offer right now and would probably wipe the floor with any Republican candidate that comes to mind. She has had some bizarre comments but nothing out of the norm for any person in the public spot light. To my knowledge she doesn't have any baggage and unlike Hillary she wasn't demeaning and targeting women who were molested by her husband. That being said I wonder if she is "progressive" enough since the latest batch of Dem candidates are outright or for all intents and purposes socialists.

Cept that Beto lost a race he should have won. He now has "loseritis" which is very difficult to get rid of.

His opponent was weak and wounded. Beto by all accounts should have won that fight but he didn't.

I think Warren is the only one with a shot, but I don't think it would be much of a shot.

He was running against creepy Cruz. Cruz has a spectacular voting record from a constitutional standpoint, but his (lack of) charisma has earned him the nickname 'Fat Dracula' among his peers in DC. That coupled with the rampant 'Texas will never be blue' institutionalized complacency of its voters, Texas was the only place Beto would've had a shot. And he missed.

He outspent Cruz 5 to 1

Even the Dems don't have pockets deep enough for Beto to even come close in a national election.

So electability is the goal, not competence? You don't see a tiny problem with that position?

I don't think so. I think it was a rebuff of Hillary. Too many voters fell victim to the lies spread by both Republicans & Russians.

Beto lost a race in a state that is overwhelmingly Republican, but he lost with such a small percentage that he's regarded as a strong contender. Thus, his current situation regarding the Presidency.
