Michael Schenker is definitely one of the greats.

My favorite guitar solo is his epic shred on this song:

Many great guitarists and Carlos Santana has always been a favorite of mine but there are some that were not known best for their guitar playing but were great nevertheless.

I love Les Pauls so much, I'm actually planning a trip to Waukesha, WI too just because I love that guy's guitar so much.

Hubby has a Les Paul and a Washburn which he likes as good as the Les Paul.

Front cover is identical to hubbys Washburn.

IMG_2409.JPG I'm late to the party.

But did anyone here say Buckethead?

The dude can flat out jam. Indi and mainly instrumentals, but the guy shreds and can play with the soul via his jazz style.

Arguably the most talented guitarist in the world.

I think I posted some Buckethead earlier in this thread, Mack.

You're right - he's one of the most talented guitarists in the world.

One of my favorite albums is Buckethead's collaboration with Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell and Brain on Praxis' Transmutation:

I like this little jam with Les Claypool, Bernie Worrell and Brain:

Steve Vai ranks up there IMO. The man can make a guitar sing.

Jimi Hendrix is a the Greatest of All-Time.

    That is beyond question.

The other 3 Faces on Mount Rushmore would probably be Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck.

    After that?

Stylistically, I like Slash and Eddie Van Halen.

    Stevie Ray was very cool.

I am also a big fan of Bowie's guitar players Mick Robson and Earl Slick.

    Ritchie Blackmore kicked major ass.

The live version of "Highway Star" is my favorite jam.

Tony Iommi is also pretty epic.

I could go on forever, but the names that I mentioned are among my personal favorites.

Boston's "Third Stage" was the first rock album I bought when I was just 14. It required a lot of experimenting to play like Tom Scholz.

Cool video, TT - I had no idea Tom Scholz played keyboards.

The first album I bought with my own money was Rush's All The World's A Stage when I was 12:

I wonder if Alex Lifeson has gotten any love in this thread?

    He sure deserves some:
