It's because the left is winning the battle. I understand this, but the fact is, the left don't understand economics, so they continually push for things that hurt economies. So you get what you have all over the world now.

Those kids in Hong Kong aren't part of your idea of wealth continually being stolen from people who earn it. They want China to go away because they know they're going to be expected to give up more and more and more of what they earn thanks to communists.

what is your end goal? I've already explained what I think it is, but... am I wrong? Do you really think we are equal?

The left is winning the battle because the right has moved to trolling and petty attacks as a political platform.
For example, I am one of the older millennials I spoke of earlier, small business owner and sit on two corporate boards, I am pro-gun and against illegal immigration, I place value on integrity and fiscal responsibility but also am not heartless. I disliked Obama.
I will likely never vote for another republican in my lifetime because of the travesty of this administration and how the right believes it is appropriate to conduct themselves. I know numerous other people around my age that should be republican but are growing further and further apart from identifying as such. Not all, but a majority. And this is just within a group that should be solidly republican.

I don’t know what the end goal is, I think that the left has ideas they honestly believe will improve the world as opposed to the right that believe in the mantra “screw everyone else, I’ve got mine” and “win by any means necessary”. Yes many of them are simplistic or not completely thought out or depend too much on others doing the right thing but the alternative is what the right has become.

I know the above is all personal anecdote so it will likely be ignored or mocked which goes back to my first sentence but it is all I have outside of opinion polling which is usually discredited as “fake news”.

I’m sure ya all have to say such things to make yourselves feel warm at night, but it really isn’t reality. Is it?

I’m a very competitive person and it is success in this regards is what gives me such a strong ego. A lot of times the confidence that one is better, is what it takes to win. But that does not mean that I think others should not be treated unfairly by the police, as seems to be the case with conservatives as they bash things like Black Lives Matter and as Republicans do their best to suppress the vote in Black neighborhoods.

This reminds me of something that I haven’t thought about for awhile. I first noticed this when I was in high school. Within my social circle were the top four five girls in the school. You know the type. They come from nice families, they’re pretty and popular, and kind of run the social society of the school. They head up the dance committees and are cheerleaders and school government office holders. My girlfriend was class Vice President from eighth grade on and went on to get herself elected to public office a few years later. She was also a star basketball and volleyball player, as well as was elected Prom Queen our senior year.

This group of women, high performing, highly desirable women as after depicted on television and in movies as being cold and hard, cruel even. But that is not how I saw them. In fact it seemed that of any group, if there was someone in need they were the first to offer a hand. The first to step in when someone was being picked on. The first to round up volunteers and solicit funds for worthy causes. This characteristic carries into adulthood.

I can even remember having conversations. You know, in high school, only about a quarter or so of students fully participate. People like to say it doesn’t matter, but that inner circle in high school, the in crowd, tends to do much better in life and are more engaging, socially and civically. We used to talk, of things we could do to get others involved, to enjoy the benefits that we enjoyed.

But alas, it seems too many are destined to sit at home, watching the tube.

Fiscal conservative: one who slashes one’s income and covers it with debt. When that high gets old, slash more income and add more debt.

I am sure you can point to some recent polling that show this.
Otherwise your opinion is noted — but dismissed.

Just look at the states, $150,000 dollar dog catchers in California compared to $20,000 dollar dog catchers in south Carolina..

California is spending almost a half a million dollars a year to pick up human poop, georgia none.

    Why is that?

Actually most people are born conservative. That is most people are born with the instinct to conform to society, whatever that society may be. That is conservative behavior.

Studies have shown, that by sixth grade or so, with some children even sooner, traits of liberal or conservative can be seen. Traits that will follow people throughout life.

How does one be born conservative, does a baby change his own diapers, buy food to eat?

You post alternative reality, why, for shits and giggles?

High performing liberals, those who have out competed others, are those who care most about the downtrodden.

And you are a boomer which was specifically mentioned as being the last group to follow these trends. So no, no source, just your opinion...

For conservatives to say liberals run off emotions and opinions that seems to be the foundation of what everything most Republicans post.

    upload_2019-11-24_2-16-22.png

Especially pay attention to the below, it shows that millennials are getting more liberal as they age — early 30’s were where previous generations begin getting more conservative meaning it should have leveled out by now as the mean age for a millennial is early 30’s. You will notice this trend is also reflected in GenX but on a smaller scale, inverses with your generation and is eliminated with the one flor in the grave generation.

I've heard this before, and on the surface it makes sense. However, just one small question.

Can all those high performing liberals just leave me alone, and they can care about the downtrodden all they want, but without my help? That is, can they care about the downtrodden without using the state to force me to go along with all their high falutin' ideals?

The answer I continually find is that they cannot. They need to force me to go along with them, and what you end up with are these left wing utopias like San Francisco where people are taking a squat and dump in front of starbucks, and the cops won't do a thing, but if Joe Six pack doesn't have his seat belt on, the cops will give him a ticket.

Can I decide to use my money the way I see fit?

I don’t see it that way. But then I am a happy older liberal in great health. Most older conservatives, especially older conservative men that I run into tend to be cranky old, stuck in their way grumps. It is kind of comical at times, like when they will be going on about how stupid the younger generation is, and then going on to blah blah blah confirm the fact that their grand children have 20 IQ points on them. I don’t know why cranky old conservatives have to do it, but a lot of them sure do. Or why they have to keep proclaiming how much smarter they are than liberals.

In fact I got so tired of hearing so many old conservatives sing that same sad song, and knowing full well the level of intelligence of such individuals, I began to research the subject. And low and behold, everywhere I look liberals outperform conservatives intellectually. The most educated places in America are the most liberal and the most uneducated places in America are the most conservative parts of America. Not only that, but liberal dominated places, being full of highly educated people tend to do better economically.

Did you know that every time one tells a falsehood, it becomes a memory. The more falsehoods one tells the more false memories one acquires. Soon one cannot tell the difference from a memory from experience, and a memory from a falsehood.

It is kind of comical, hearing some conservatives going on about liberals. Like I haven’t already checked and know better.

You seem to be misrepresenting what is afoot. The old conservative collective is being washed away by fresh waves of liberal thought, the natural order of the universe. Out with the old, in with the new.

They are not just hitting you but feel free to report away, your compatriots already are for every single little thing.

Moderating is a tricky thing, too much and it causes membership to decline because everyone feels unequally targeted — too little and everything becomes a shouting contest with no actual intelligent discourse. Personally, I miss the truth rule and feel like too much trolling is allowed but with the amount of outright lies made by many it would be a full time job for triple the moderators we have.

If people could keep things civil many of the insults and personal attacks would evaporate
But no one can do that it seems.
