Would you say that anyone who doesn't claim asylum at a port of entry, but instead risks their lives by walking through the remote desert has a genuine asylum claim?

Because our congress no longer represents the interests of US working citizens.

That is not how asylum works. Again, read some actual primary source material so you have some idea what you're talking about. I'm not here to give you a 101.

Ah that clarifies what you were asking.

This has to do with the difference between "removal" and "deportation." If the Border Patrol catches someone at the border, if that person is Mexican, they can just turn them around boot them out of the country. If that person is other than Mexican, they can't be removed by being booted into Mexico, you have to go through the entire legal process, that could take years, to actually deport someone. In the meantime they are released with temporary work permits. So that's why it pays to run the border, because we can't get rid of these people.

True. And now things are different under the Trump era.

There is a long interim period of time when they are determining whether the asylum claim is legitimate.

Best way is to look them up and read several different versions of whatever the topic is. Then, come to your own conclusions. If others tell you, they are telling you their version. It's not wrong, but it isn't yours.

Try to get the best sources you can. In other words, if someone has done an interview, try to find that one. If there are local reports, find those. If there is a study done, look for the source document. Sometimes they are difficult to understand. When that happens, look for something less technical. The further away from the original source you get, the less accurate the information is.

And always, there is an issue with motives. It seems today, it's more difficult than ever to get some documents that are not skewed to one side or another. And, though I am not a liberal, I do my best not to just overlook their commentary. Everyone has a point to be made and even those you disagree with can open your eyes to something. In truth, I find conservatives similarly wary. You have to look at each as an individual and see what their personal complaint is. Most times, you can throw those reports away and read the other stories they write.

Is this in relation to "international lawsuits" with regards to illegal immigration?

What about someone who isn't even claiming asylum?

No I mean, why do they support releasing ANY aliens into the interior of the country after they're caught?

Only Mexicans are immediately deported? Surely you can't be serious!

What do you mean it's not how asylum works? I'm asking you if you think that someone who doesn't claim asylum at a port of entry, but instead risks their lives by walking through the remote desert is genuinely fleeing from some sort of persecution. Are you able to give your opinion on that?

How is asking for your opinion asking you for a "101?"

So only the ones who claim asylum are released into the interior? Or are you assuming that every single person who crosses the border is running away from persecution?

Well if you don't think that they're being released into the interior, then what the hell do you think is happening to them? Immediately being deported?

House them? Why can't they just be IMMEDIATELY sent back to where they came from if they don't have an asylum claim?

There's no relationship between Koch Foods and the Koch brothers! :roflol:

Well technically, on the southern border, only Mexicans can be removed.

    And don't call me Shirley!

Because it's not worth holding them in their opinion given all the circumstances.

I'm not talking about holding them, I'm talking about deporting them instead of releasing them into the interior of the country.
