Why are the COVID-19 spikes in Florida and Texas getting attention but not California?

Nope. Never did. That was all the idea of another member. Again, I’ve twice now stated the opposite. Again, why is this complicated?

You should have just said that in the first place.

I’ve been correcting that false accusation all day. I’m frankly a bit weary of doing so. Apologies for being curt.

Feb. thru May is of little significance when they had more cases than that last week. If you don't have a point just stop posting. No one will notice.

He seems to be trying to make a case that somehow New York did something to Florida. But he's not having much luck.

And yet you're criticising Florida while giving NY a free pass! :roflol:

When this discussion began it was between myself and another poster. The subject was New Yorkers fleeing the state during the height of the pandemic there. Because none of you can read apparently or comprehend what you read you keep going back to cases in FL today. That has never been the subject I’ve been addressing. It is a strawman you and @ECA constructed. I proved my point repeatedly. You have offered no content refuting my point because you can’t. What I’ve posted is factual. I implore you to try and refute anything I’ve posted and I implore you to stick to what I’ve posted, not what you want to pretend I’ve posted. You all keep stating I said cases today in FL came from NY. But nobody has quoted me saying that. That was never the subject I was addressing in these numerous posts.

Only a fool would do such a thing. Only Democrat governors did as far as I know. If you know of a governor who wasn’t a Democrat who did I’d be interested in learning about it.

You are welcome to ignore the advice of the CDC about disinfecting surfaces and hand washing. You are welcome to advocate for not disinfecting public transportation because we aren’t sure how much infection has resulted from that mode of transfer. It’s silly, but right down your alley. You’ve always been a fan of South Korea’s handling of C19. Guess which state handled public transportation like South Korea? Not NY. Oh no, Cuomo knew better. LOL

Please don’t make things up. It makes you look foolish. I’ve said repeatedly I knew ventilator use needed to be re-evaluated (used less often) and advocated for that here while Cuomo was still clamoring for more units. It was clear to anyone paying attention to the science they were being over used. Yet he kept spending money on units never delivered and never needed. Cuomo is a moron. His health department should have been advising him on ventilator over-use weeks before I figured it out. It’s their freaking job.

Competent governors don’t need to watch seniors die in droves to know sending positive cases to nursing homes is stupid. It’s common sense. I believe 90% of governors/state health departments made the correct decision as Cuomo was making the wrong one. I don’t know much about FL’s gov. but so far the numbers are not in Cuomo’s favor. I guess time will tell.

Based on antibody testing statewide, NY has 13.4% with antibodies. NYC is at 19.9% with some boroughs at 51%. This was mid June. Based on what we know now about decreasing antibody levels, these tests are certainly missing cases infected in Feb. and March. I’m sure you didn’t understand the link I provided earlier on T cell immunity, but it is becoming apparent there are many who have been infected and carry immunity but never test positive for antibodies. This combination of factors (hard science) is what I’m basing my forecast on. (Maybe my prediction is on the high end, but based on infection levels I don’t believe it is.) Not Worldometer positive test data. That stuff is for amateurs that can’t comprehend the intricacies of cell mediated and humoral immunity. Positive PCR data is meaningless in the realm of antibody and T cell immunity. Again, your ignorance of the facts has led you to question my credibility. The reality that you are ill informed on different modes of immunity and current testing and studies doesn’t damage my credibility, it damages yours. I suggest you study the subject a bit before making such baseless accusations. Of course you are welcome to critique the study I provided (when you claim I don’t back up my claims LOL) but we both know you already would have if you could. Face it. You are way out of your depth here.

Well there you have it @ECA! Confirmation of what 557 was talking about. Perhaps you DIDN'T actually accuse 557 of saying "today’s cases in FL came from NY", but either way, I assume that you're not denying that it's almost certain that some of the 80,000 NY citizens who fled to Florida spread the virus.

Lol...That's complete nonsense. The news is everywhere, but keep trying to make the pandemic a partisan issue.
Meanwhile, back in the gutter...your orange dotard keeps trying to tear our country apart. Haven't you had enough of that disgusting maggot?

Well of course you don't HAVE to, I mean nobody is holding a gun to your head! However, you made a claim - and it's a pretty sensible idea for people who make claims to be able to SUPPORT them. It seems that you don't go along with this! :roflol:

Again, isn't it much more likely that he's a complete idiot and says dumb stuff? Trump is either a doofus or not a doofus. Which is it?

What's a lie that you think they've countered?

Oh but I WAS responding to what you said! For example, you SAID that all of the stupid crap that Trump was coming out with at press conferences, is "all the information from the federal government [Cuomo] HAD" considering your reply in the 5th reply section in this post: http://www.politicalforum.com/index...not-california.574578/page-11#post-1071836077

You SAID that "the CDC should have found some way to side-step Trump on this." That implies that Trump was in their way! If Trump was NOT in the way, then what did the CDC need to "side-step" exactly?
Your argument is HOPELESSLY unsupported I'm afraid! I also note your unfounded conspiracy theory that there is "nonsense coming out of the WH" which is somehow in opposition to Fauci! I can really FEEL the Trump hate! :roflol:

I guess I expected too much from your perception of sarcasm

Somebody once told me that a person's ability to spot sarcasm is the best measure of intelligence. Not sure I agree with them or not but.... that's out there.

So, yet again, you couldn't produce a reference. Only states I know with hospitals filled to capacity have been New York, New Jersey and now Florida is well on its way.

Where did I say to ignore them?

    More made up crap!

So it's even worse than I thought! You actually expected Cuomo to do what you pulled out of your anal cavity after the fact, and not what the medical doctors told him during the fact!

Show that patients died "in droves" in nursing hom..

Look.... forget it! this is a waste of time. You make wild claim after wild claim. And you are not going to show any reference, source or... anything that would work as support.

I can't take you seriously anymore. And I don't bother to read long posts from posters I can't take seriously. I'm sure you understand that it would be a waste of time and not personal.

    Thanks anyway.

None! And taking phrases out of context is the most despicable tactic anybody who has nothing to contribute can use.

Your argument is based on ignorance. Field hospitals set up to take hospital overflow were not utilized hardly at all in New York. There was never any reason to send active cases to care homes. None. That should never have been considered as an option. At least 3 other Democrat led states put cases in nursing homes that you claim didn’t have hospital capacity issues—Michigan, California and Pennsylvania. Why did they do it? Same reason Cuomo did. They were stupid. You don’t put cases in rest homes when there are other vastly superior options. Only leftist governors were so stupid.

You attempted to excuse Cuomo’s incompetence by claiming disinfection of public transportation wasn’t really important. Yet every successful country and state has done so. Either it’s important and Cuomo messed up again or it isn’t important. I won’t let you waffle your way out of picking one position and sticking with it.

I only deal in facts Golem. On April 10 I posted this.
Research had been pointing to incorrect vent usage since the last week of February. I’m not sure if it was Cuomo personally or his inept health administration, but they messed up. (Even Trump figured it out before Cuomo, that’s probably why he kept telling Cuomo he didn’t need 40,000 more vents.)

Anyway, when I was figuring out the vent overuse problems and sharing them with the forum, Cuomo was threatening to send National Guard troops upstate to seize vents, engaging in contracts to purchase vents through fraudulent vendors, taking delivery of vents from China, and begging other states to send vents to NY. That’s inexcusable. He or his health department should have been ahead of the curve, not behind it.
If you are that ignorant of what happened in NY care homes this is definitely a waste of time. It’s sad you guys who want to tell everyone else what to do are so uninformed. You are so lacking in basic knowledge you want links about deaths in NY care homes? LOL

Well, like I’ve told you before, I think this virus is too important of a subject to let your errors and misinformation go unanswered. So I will continue to inform the forum when you undoubtedly try and disseminate misinformation again. I guess it’s up to you if you want to reply or not. Maybe you should just put me on ignore so my presentation of facts you can’t refute doesn’t upset you. I do congratulate you for recognizing you are out of your depth on the herd immunity issue. On that and all the above I accept your concession. No I won’t take anything personal and my replies aren’t to be taken personally either. To be frank, I do get tired of having to educate you on every subject we discuss so a break will be nice! Take care.
