It used to be a bargain to buy ginger--a bit of ginger root went a long way, and would last forever. No now, though--someone in the supply chain is ruining all of it before it can get to the consumer. How? By removing all the buds. Ginger does not respond the way potatoes do to bud removal--it tends to die and rot--something I never saw happen until the debudding began. Now, I can't buy fresh ginger any more, because there is no healthy, reliably alive ginger out there. Who is behind this wanton destruction, and why? Is there going to be a ginger monopoly by China?????????
I have to admit that I thought this was going to be about aborting ginger kids like the threads about aborting Down's syndrome kids.
