I would love to see vouchers for K thru 12. Parents should be allowed to take their kids where the quality of education is high without being charged with enrollment fraud. We need competition, charter schools, performance based pay, etc.

Social Security is a very sad story of good intentions ruined by greed and irresponsibility. Anytime money is put aside for people, the government finds a way to spend it on something else. It just burns a hold in their pockets. Competition is needed there as well. People can do better.

Finding common ground is a starting point. And it's amazing, how much further you get in discussions and compromises when you start from there. Once you identify that you are coming from the same place, you can have a productive conversation rather than one that devolves into name calling and finger pointing.

    perhaps with weak minded people.
I find that I don't often get to that point even if there isn't any common ground discussed. I can actually respect people that disagree with me.

Really? You "respect" people who believe that homosexuality is a sin? That it is evil?

And you are "strong minded"? What does that mean, exactly? Ah, I know. You rely on "reason" and "science" and not those foolish traditional American values.

What is weak minded about starting off a discussion on a level front?

No, I mean mine were not born in this country. I'm not talking about distant ancestors, or even close ancestors. And once again, I'm adamantly PRO migration. Especially from nations which can provide a balancing effect to our horribly degraded First World social health (ie from Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa), via educated people of high moral fibre. I don't have a problem with refugees, when they are refugees ... not economic migrants sneaking in under false pretences.

When you call someone a monster, directly and openly, you damage only yourself. You may want to ask yourself why your ideology has pushed you to such things.

Free in that we don't pay school fees (in the usual sense). Free in that no one can say they're unable to afford to educate their kids.

Neither. It's because we've devolved to infantile good vs evil ideology. We were more 'mature' in the late 20thC.

The reality is that we once didn't really care how others voted. We didn't want to know. We didn't discuss politics. We didn't discuss the 'state of the nation'. We didn't discuss wars. We didn't discuss the economy from a political perspective. Etc etc.

I can respect the people without agreeing with the opinion. the inability to do that it's probably why there's so much division.

How can I expect them to respect me if I can't respect them?

now if they're saying gay people should be executed or jailed eternally than yeah I don't respect that.
Do you think that traditional American values are not based on reason, is to reject all of social science up until this point.

That's what has changed .. we regard each other as politics first, 'identity' second, and people last. It's ****ing disgusting.

Fair enough. We have that already. So far, no one is suggesting we get rid of it. Thats one thing we can agree on.

I would ask you to explain what the hell you mean by this but I've been down this road before, and I know that it's pointless so maybe I just won't read your crap anymore.

For the second time I'll answer the question...
Because of political correctness and diversity.

I can respect you but I don't respect your position. You have a tendency to make claims and not support them. I've seen it happen far too many times

I might be able to work with with homophobes, racists, misogynists, etc,, but I'm not about to help them impose their darker impulses on other people.

I'm sorry I don't believe you. You make claims that are unbelievable. And I'm not asking for proof beyond A reasonable doubt, verb any of your claims it's any evidence whatsoever.

People believe wacky things. I don't think I've ever told you that your beliefs are stupid. That's out of respect
