Here's 'The Daily Wire' detailing the ass kicking that Pence got in his damage control effort:

On Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh interviewed Vice President Mike Pence about the most recent congressional budget deal. On Monday, Limbaugh described the budget deal as a “win” for Democrats.

Limbaugh asked Pence to explain why Americans should vote for Republicans if Democrats continue to set the political agenda of the government: “If this is what happens, Mr. Vice President, why vote Republican? What is the point of voting Republican if the Democrats are going to continue to win practically 95% of their objectives, such as in this last budget deal?”

Pence described the budget deal as a “clear win for the American people.” He echoed Paul Ryan’s hyping of an increase in military funding and border security as a fulfillment of Republican promises. He described part of the budget as a "down payment on a border wall."

"We're beginning to build the wall already," said Pence.

Limbaugh continued to ask Pence about Republican abdication to the demands of Democrats and the broader left:

“If I’m the Democrats, $15-21 billion for defense that was not originally authorized [in the previous budget] is a small price to pay for continuing to fund refugee resettlement, continuing to fund Planned Parenthood, continuing to fund sanctuary cities, continuing to fund the EPA and not build the wall. The Democrats clearly think this is a big win, and they’re confident they can continue to block Trump’s agenda after this spending bill for the rest of Trump’s term. There isn’t anything of the president’s agenda in this budget, and people are beginning to ask, ‘When’s that gonna happen?’ If you’re gonna shut it down in September, why not now? If you complain about sixty votes today, why not go budget reconciliation for fifty-one votes and smoke ‘em?

Mr. Vice President, we've been told this for fifteen years, 'We'll get 'em next time, after the continuing resolution. We'll get 'em next time. We'll kick the can down the road.

Why is the president now suggesting a budget shutdown in September-October. If it's no good now, why is it good then? Republicans control the White House and both branches of Congress, but you wouldn’t know it by the budget they are preparing to pass into law.
After avoiding a government shutdown last week, and with another shutdown looming on Friday, House and Senate leaders have hammered out a 1,700-page, $1 trillion omnibus spending bill to fund the government through the end of fiscal year 2017 (which falls on September 30). It is noteworthy for what it does not include: namely, most of Donald Trump’s and Republicans’ recent campaign promises. The bill does not defund Planned Parenthood. It does not include any of the president’s deep cuts to domestic agencies. Public broadcasting is funded at current levels. The National Endowment for the Arts’ budget is increased. There’s even funding for California’s high-speed rail.
