Why do gun fearers even go out in public?

Shouldn't they be afraid of getting shot?

If America is SO dangerous because of gun rights, how come they arent huddled in a bunker somewhere?

Its no secret that roughly 1 in every hundred people is legally concealing a firearm, and prolly another 1 in every hundred is ILLEGALLY concealing (despite the law, obviously). Thats 1 for every 50. How often to we all come within 'muder range' of 50 people every day?

Seriously, if guns are so dangerous, how can anyone justify going out in public without body armor and a security detail?

I love how the people who insist the level of gun-related violent crime in the US is so bad we need to furthers limit the rights of the law abiding, but then tell us the law abiding are paranoid if they believe they need a gun for self-defense.

 

Best bet is to avoid being around and befriending bad people---and certainly don't make them your enemy.

I try to stay away from criminal safe zones in urban areas that allow criminals to be as bad as they want to be.

 

Truth is you are in more danger from your average driver than from anyone with a gun.


You are in far more danger of an elderly driver or bad drivers, driving their car through your house and killing everybody than the danger of getting shot by anyone.

 

The fear of guns is a mostly irrational one by those who don’t understand them.

For the useful idiots, sure.
Tyrants, or those who would be tyrants, fear guns for other, more obvious, reasons.

 

Never be without your gun. Even in the shower. Keep a gun under your pillow. Having surgery? Post an armed guard. Going scuba diving? Bring a spear gun. Never drop your guard. LOL

You love to mock people to make it seem anyone that defends themselves is foolish and paranoid, yet some of us are alive because we were Armed.

 

The correct response is to sacrifice yourself and family for the mental well being of the herd, don’t you know. Shame on that fellow in Texas....

You exagerate greatly in order to mock those that prepare by having a small revolver in order to defend themselves, comparing that, to crazy land mines or grenades or rocket launchers or some such foolishness etc......

 

Technically its the gun owner who has a higher risk of death. I doubt the 'gun fearers' celebrate that though.

How is a gun owner at greater risk of WHAT and death as opposed to a person that does not own a gun ?
Because I can tell you how many times a small S&W revolver in a pocket has saved my life, I have never had the experience of my firearms in any way endangering my life.

 

The reason for the higher risk is not known with any certainty. There may be behavioural effects, but clearly there will also be issues such as family crime.

 

Its correlative for sure, but causation has yet to be determined. Its possible (or likely, imo) that those who carry are *already* at increased risk, and thats *why* they start carrying.

 

True, but you'd need risk to be a significant feature. It would also be a strange outcome for the thread's title, given it would mean 'gun fearers' actually don't have guns because they have less to fear.

 

See, this is where things get confused, law abiding families with a long tradition of owning guns and training their children early into guns are not problematic beyond unusual incidents.

Prohibited persons living in Ghettos that have long histories of family problems and illegal drug use and sales, living off crime and criminal activities.
People that see killing as a method to solve problems, these people seek guns, guns are NOT the cause of their badly managed lives.

These are the people that either clog Emergency Rooms with family members that are direct victims or their enemies or rivals they end up shooting and injuring as well as shooting rival drug dealers and other criminals as well as unintended victims that often get caught in the cross fire.

Many E.R. Physicians only experience with firearms and shooting are the hapless victims of these criminal acts, ie shootings.

These often are the Physicians publishing Political Agenda based Anti Gun studies based on a narrow view of a very local medical practic of victims of criminal gang and related drug violence.

A true study should not lump Millions of law abiding people with a few hundred thousand people that commit over 90% of crimes and related evil.

 

Exactly. Newtown is a perfect example. Mummy liked having guns around, so crazy junior went out and killed a bunch of school children.

When a parent conceal carries a firearm, what does it say to their children? It says, got problem? Draw your weapon.
