I keep seeing it implied (and stated by Biden himself) that the U.S. and Biden Admin. had to continue with the U.S. withdrawal because of the agreement Trump had made last year to withdraw.

    Why?

    1) President Joe Biden has spent months changing Trump policies, why couldn't he change regarding U.S.withdrawal from Afghanistan?

    2) Some will say that "The American voters wanted the U.S. to withdraw".

So? Americans always want to end our

involvement overseas somewhere. It is an IAO (Instinctive American Opinion). If you polled the American people and ask them if the U.S. should withdraw from Cardassia you would probably get a majority supporting that.

Beyond that, can anyone honestly say that there has been a massive grassroots movement in the U.S. for us to withdraw from Afghanistan? Of course not, It was a non issue in the last election.

So why do people want to claim the Biden Admin. was in any way obligated to go along with the agreements Trump had made?

clearly because they can’t accept that Trumps plan was better and all of these deaths are because Biden was too spiteful to initiate trumps plan as intended
    Truly sad

And why do people think Trump's withdrawal plan would have looked like what happened under Biden?

You don't think Trump would have done something about all those Taliban fighters overrunning military bases and taking major cities one by one?

Trump would have held the Taliban to the deal, and they probably wouldn't have broke it because they knew there'd be consequences. Under the Biden Administration, they saw there was no American response, and no air power in the skies to stop them.

Clearly because it supports the ButTrumpism running rampant in the Afghanistan threads.

Trump's team handed Biden's team a plan, but Biden's team apparently wasn't interested.

I don't believe that Biden was "obligated to stick to Trump's plan" but I believe he faced unwavering pressure to finish what was started. Yes, the majority of Americans polled said that it was time to end this BUT Biden could have chosen many other ways to do that.

At the end of the day, this does NOT fall on one man's shoulders. Everyone from W. to Biden has played a crucial part and all are responsible.

We have one day left. Biden needs to stick to this plan and bring our civilians, friends and supporters, and soldiers. Nothing less is acceptable.
