    1) because these folks are ignorant brainwashed sheep
    2) because these folks - while claiming to be Republicans - hate the principles of Republicanism - and in fact do not even know what the principles of republicanism are
    3) because our education system - through 12 years - manages not to teach the basic principles of Republicanism/Classical Liberalism -and the basics of history that relate Oligopolism and wealth inequality and indentured servitude.

Indeed they do .. the Establishment is both Red and Blue. The question of this thread however is why the majority of Republicans - those who claim to want fair and free markets, lower taxes and less Gov't ... Love elected officials who hate free and fair markets, love taxing the middle class and love Big Gov't, Big debt and deficits ?

Black grievance industry... on the way out. Nothing you can do about that. Not a thing.

GOP lawmaker who employs hundreds of minors looks to abolish all state child labor laws

The Indy Star reports that Indiana state Sen. Chip Perfect has filed a bill that would get rid of work permit requirements for underage employees, while also removing restrictions on the hours underage teenagers can work.

    Please define "fairly"?

There are people who have been born and brought up in abject poverty; they grew up without being taught about personal responsibility and sacrifice - yet they sacrificed much and assumed a lot of stressful responsibility and have reaped the rewards.
Compare this to your average worker who shows up to work every day and works hard - he or she is dependable and solid - yet, they don't want to voluntarily work late nights and weekends to satisfy a customers needs; they don't want to sacrifice personal time working for little or no immediate reward.

Please forgive me if I side with the family and with the person who has paid the price for their success.

The other side of the same coin - take away the incentive to succeed and the successful and potentially successful will leave - just as happened during the Obama years.

Please tell me how we take away the incentive to succeed? Did we take away the incentive from black people when we segregated them and told them they were inferior? Did we take away incentive when we did Nied women admission to the best networking colleges? What is the incentive you’re talking about and I hope it’s not public assistance. Living at the poverty level isn’t exactly success to them

What does millionaires in Congress have to do with your warped sense of incentive? I suspect projection here. Not everyone thinks like you. There are plenty of extremely wealthy people who care about people who earn $7.25 an hour

Like most leftists, you analyze this topic through the prism of a class warfare lense, and like most leftists, you mistakenly assume that while arguing for low capital gains rates, Conservatives are therefore arguing that the uber wealthy are being treated unfairly.Nothing could be further from the truth.

Conservatives approach this topic from an entirely different perspective. Rather than focusing on the individual, and trying to pick winners and losers in the game of wealth redistribution, Conservatives look at the topic from the perspective of the economy as a whole. Capital gains is the tax on investment, and investment is the fuel that drives our economic engine. As such, it is something that we want to encourage rather than discourage. When you tax something at a higher rate, you get less of it. When you tax something at a lower rate, you get more of it. We want more, rather than less investement, hence Conservatives argue that capital gains rates should be lower rather than higher as compared to the desires of the left. It really is as simple as that.

From the Conservative perspective, the desire for low capital gains rates has absolutely nothing to do with arguing that a billionaire needs to keep more of his capital appreciation. Rather, Conservatives argue that we need to incentivize everyone to invest their money so that our economic engine maximizes available fuel. Leftists on the other hand, are focused on what the billionaire has that they do not. Conservtives do not view the world from that same lense.

Tax Refund Fiasco Is Political Payback For Republicans

They stepped on this rake last year and now it’s hitting them in the face.

    www.huffpost.com/entry/tax-refunds-gop-l...

    Bigger Paychecks, Lower Refunds
“I thought, ‘Wow, Trump is great, I love him,’” Callori said.

But last week Callori heard from her tax preparer that she owes the federal government more than $5,000 ― almost five times as much as she had to pay in previous years.

“I almost fell out of my chair. I could not believe it,” she said. “I voted for Trump. I thought he was going to be good for this country, but when I got that phone call, that’s it, I’m done.”

Callori’s tax bill went up for two reasons. One is that the law directly disadvantaged her by limiting deductions for state and local taxes, which increased the amount of Callori’s income subject to tax and added an extra grand to her bill.

The bigger reason is that her employer withheld too little from her paycheck. The extra $90 she received should have been added to the amount that gets automatically socked away to cover the federal income tax. Like most people, however, Callori did not fill out a worksheet and submit a new Form W-4 to her employer at the beginning of last year.
